Chapter 427: I'm not a baby
Why won't she be able to go for a walk. She let out a groan as she remembered the next instant as Xia helped her out of the bed. Her legs were still quite sore, but the bed rest had helped, a lot.
"I'll be fine. I can go by myself." she said as he began to help her towards the washroom. "You sure?" Xia asked. Chen only nodded and hobbled towards her destination.
When she came out, Chen noticed that Si Xia had changed his work shirt for a casual pair of t-shirt and was sitting on the edge of the bed, playing with Oreo. He looked up at the sound of the door opening and immediately rushed to her side. "Are you fine? Does it hurt a lot?" he asked, his face sick with worry.
Yu Chen laughed as she reached out to ruffle his hair. "I'm okay silly." she said, "Stop babying me so much." Xia's lips also curved into a smile upon hearing this as he wrapped both of his arms around her waist. "How can I not, you're my precious little baby after all." he said, planting a kiss on the side of Chen's head.
Yu Chen fake-pouted and said, her hands making their way around his neck. "I am not a baby, It's not my fault you're like a mountain." Si Xia laughed and planted a kiss on the side of Chen's head before saying, "Ready?" Yu Chen nodded, but she looked down at her clothes and asked, "You sure these are fine?" Xia nodded and the two went out, Oreo trailing behind.
As Yu Chen was a little embarrassed, being in Xia's clothes, they were walking around in the backyard of Si Xia's bungalow.
Yu Chen had picked up a stick which she was casually throwing around for Oreo to fetch. As he made a particularly spectacular catch, Chen giggled and was clapping her hands when she heard Si Xia wish someone a good evening.
She straightened up and was surprised to see an elderly man on the other side of the fence. He smiled at both of them as Yu Chen also wished him and they walked over to have a chat. "Good evening, Si Xia. And who might this beautiful young lady be?" the man asked.
"Uncle Gin, this is Yu Chen. Chen, this is Gin Nai. He moved in the neighborhood just last week." Si Xia introduced the two of them and Yu Chen bowed, saying, "It's really nice to meet you uncle Gin." Uncle Gin let out a huge laugh and said, "Likewise, Miss Yu. I must say, your girlfriend is very pretty Si Xia."
Chen blushed a little upon hearing this and bowed. "Si Xia, you're so young and have already found such a pretty girlfriend. My son, on the other hand, I keep telling him to settle down. I tell him that no girl will love him if he gets too old, but he just doesn't want to listen." Uncle Gin continued. Xia wrapped an arm around Chen with a chuckle and said, "Believe me uncle Gin, that would have been me if not for her. I'm sure your son will marry once he finds the right girl." "Yeah, yeah." Uncle Gin muttered, and went on to chatter, like only many old people can.
