Chapter 425: Don't get up
"I'm so sorry babe." he said, kissing the side of Chen's forehead. "Let me help you back to bed."
Yu Chen sat with her arms folded across her chest and a pout on her face after Si Xia helped her in bed and was setting up breakfast in front of her. "What?!" he asked, seeing the expression on her face. Chen narrowed her eyes and said, "You think this is funny."
Xia bit back a smile as he climbed beside her and puller her onto his lap. "Come on Chen. It's a little funny." he said. Yu Chen threw her hands in frustration and snapped, "No! It's not!!" "I can't even get out of this bed without my legs hurting like cr*p." she added with a pout, calming down.
"But why would you need to get out of this bed?" Si Xia asked, looking so genuinely confused that even Yu Chen wondered for a few seconds, why would she need to get up. "Because . . . . !!!!!!" she whined, shaking her head to gather her thoughts, "Because . . . . to pee and stuff." "Also, I need to take a shower!!" she exclaimed, suddenly remembering all the reason why she wanted to get up. "Also, I'm gonna be bored to death if I just lie in bed the whole day." she hastily added, honestly saying anything that came into her mind at this point.
Xia leaned closer to her with an angelic smile on his face. "Okay. How about this?" he said, "Seeing that all this is practically my fault," "Practically?!?!?! It's completely your fault!!!" Chen interrupted him before he could finish. Xia sighed and patiently continued, "Okay. Since it is completely my fault, how about this? I'll help you if you need to go pee, I'll also help you shower, cook all the meals and bring you anything you want. Hell, I'll dance to entertain you if you get bored."
"But what about your work?" Chen asked. Xia rubbed her head and said, "I was planning to take the day off anyways. I asked Chuang to call me if anything urgent comes up."
"You would do that?" she asked, her face brightening up. "Of course." Si Xia replied, straightening up. "I'll ask someone to get your laptop, and get you some books till it gets here. Play with Oreo in the meantime." he added, already walking towards the door.
Yu Chen nodded as Oreo, as if on cue, jumped onto the bed and settled in her lap. "The keys are in my bag! It's light brown in color!!" she called out. "I know which one it is! I bought it for you!!" his voice was heard as he yelled back. Chen chuckled as she dug her hands in Oreo's dense fur.
Si Xia was sitting in bed with a book open in front of him. Yu Chen, for whom be had originally brought the book, had his laptop open on her stomach as she lay with her head on his lap and was watching a movie. "Hmm? Did you say anything?" she asked, taking out her earphones and looking up at Xia who shook his head, his phone to his ear. Chen shrugged and went back to her movie. She reached for Oreo who was curled a little away from her and pulled him close, burying her hands in his fur.
