Chapter 403: Great news!
"Miss Yu? You there? . . . . " the woman's voice came through the phone, pulling Chen back to her senses.
"Yes. Yes!!" Yu Chen exclaimed.
"So, what do you think?" Yun Wei asked.
"Umm . . . . " Did Chen really want to let her know she was zoning out? It was better than agreeing to something she had no clue. Yu Chen decided. "Regarding what?" she asked.
Yun Wei's voice didn't even falter as she said, "Regarding the meeting we need to schedule for further discussions. How does tomorrow suit you?"
"Tomorrow? Perfect!" Chen was almost dancing with joy as she cut the call.
Yu Chen really did a little victory dance and punched the air happily when suddenly her phone rang once again.
This time it was a person she knew. She picked up the call and exclaimed, "Zenghai!!! I've got great news!"
"Really?" Huo Zenghai's voice also became excited.
Chem narrated all that had happened to Zenghai, and he shrieked, "Yayyyyy! This calls for a celebration!!" and the next moment spoke, "No no no. Nothing's wrong. Go back to your work."
Yu Che giggled upon realising that Zenghai had screamed at the top of his lungs in the office. When next his voice came from the phone, Zenghai's voice was dripping with excitement as he said, "Let's celebrate today!"
"Okay. Decide on a place. But no drinks. I have that meeting tomorrow." Yu Che replied.
Huo Zenghai laughed, "Done. By the way, I called to tell you that I invited everyone to his mansion." "Did you . . ." Chen interupted, and Zenghai replied, "Yes yes. I made it look like I was planning everything. I still don't understand why you want to keep your relationship a secret."
Chen shook her head and said, "The same reason you did. Anyway, I have to go now. See you tonight."
"See you." Zenghai said as he cut the call.
The next thing Chen did was pack up all of her stuff and go downstairs back to the apartment.
Once there, she called Si Xia. "Hey!! Gues what?" Yu Chen spoke as soon as the call connected.
"So sorry Miss Chen, but President Si is in a meeting right now. And he left his mobile with me." Assistant Chuan's voice came from the other end.
"Oh." Chen was silent for a minute before she decided on something and said, "Well then, whenever he's free, tell him that I'm bringing lunch."
"Of course, Miss Chen." Xing Chuan's voice gave away how happy he was as he cut the call.
Yu Chen was giddy with excitement as she went into the kitchen.
A few days later . . . .
Si Xia got up in his mansion and stretched as he felt something licking at his face.
"Good morning to you too Oreo." he said, ruffling Oreo's soft black fur. Oreo gave a joyful bark and started to jump around on the bed.
Xia's laugh suddenly turno into a curse as Oreo stepped onto his leg. "You are growing way to fast." Xia said, massaging his leg as Oreo jumped down from the bed, and stood with his tail waging on the floor.
"You want something to eat? Do you want a treat?" Xia said, lovingly playing with Oreo as they both entered the kitchen.
Si Xia picked up his phone after freshening up, to call Chen for their regular jog and workout, but he was very surprised when she didn't pick up.
