Chapter 388: Whatever makes you happy
"You don't have to do this if you don't want to, you know. I'm sure Zenghai will completely understand. And he's the only one that matters anyway." Yu Chen said, putting her arms around Hua's shoulders and rubbing her back.
Xi Hua shook her head and said, "No. That's it. I want to. I want to at least let my mom have this happiness. I've anyway almost cut her out of my life. But I had to, I couldn't get rid of my toxic dad without cutting off my mom too."
Chen nodded, "Of course I understand Hua. And I'm sure aunty Xi does too. Do whatever makes you happy. And remember, whatever happens, I'll always be there for you." her voice cracked by the time she reached the end of her sentence.
Hua nodded and hugged her tighter saying, "You better be. Otherwise I'm gonna ruin that perfect face of yours." Her voice shaking due to the tears streaking down from her eyes. The two girls giggled while tears streamed down their eyes and they tightly hugged each other. The next instant, they both let out a laugh as Huo Zenghai's voice was heard outside the washroom door. "Hey! I hope you're not trying to steal my fiancee Chen!" he said.
Yu Chen stuck out her tongue as the two girls broke apart. "That's exactly what I'm doing." she said. Zenghai let out a laugh, "Keep trying. She loves me too much to cheat on me." Xi Hua gave Chen a devilish grin before saying, "That's what I thought too. But I've realized something Zenghai . . . . . " she said, doing a very good acting of feeling very sorry and guilty at the same time.
"What the fu*k Hua!!!!!!!! I fu*king proposed to you yesterday!!!!" Huo Zenghai exclaimed outside the door. Yu Chen laughed and said, "That's enough. I'm worried he's gonna kill me whenever we come out." she called aloud to Zenghai while beginning to quickly fix Hua's make-up that had been ruined due to the tears, "We'll be out in a few!"
The two women walked into the private room a few minutes later to see both of their loves busy reading something on their mobiles. Huo Zenghai was explaining something and the two seemed to be reading the same e-mail on their pones.
Chen and Hua walked over and snatched both of their phones from their hands. Si Xia warmly smiled as Chen said, "No work talk." "As you command, my queen." he said as the girls took their seats. "You guys are finally here!! I'll never be able to understand what you women do in the restroom." Huo Zenghai whined making the two girls chuckle.
"Lucky you aren't a woman then. Huh?" Yu Chen said as she took a huge scoop of the ice-cream Xia had ordered for her and her face lit up like a child. The others laughed at her expression before they also dug in their desserts.
"So Hua, will you be coming home tonight?" Chen asked as the four exited the restaurant. Xi Hua rubbed her chin and thought, "Hmm. . . . . I'm not sure. I think I have enough spare clothes at Zenghai's place, and maybe I too will take tomorrow off."
