Chapter 385: Proof of love
"Hmm . . . . I think I do. But I'm not so sure. I think I'm gonna need some proof." Yu Chen replied with a child-like smile, getting up.
"And what kind of proof exactly do you want?" Si Xia asked with a warm smile, his heart warming up upon seeing Chen's smile.
But the next second a chill went down his spine as Chen's child-like smile turned into her devilish smirk and Xia immediately regretted whatever was going to happen next.
"Where are those two!!!" Xi Hua exclaimed leaning back in her chair. She streched and whined a bit more as Huo Zenghai replied, looking up from his phone, "I texted Xia. Chen replied that they'll be here any moment." and he went back to reading an email on his mobile.
Hua huffed and started to admire the ring that she had just gotten yesterday. It really was a breath-taking piece of jewelry. The ring was made of platinum and shaped like a vine around Hua's finger, the top of the ring was a little rose that looked like it had just grown out of the vine.
Xi Hua was watching the ring catching lights from different angels when she heard the door open. She looked up and her face lit up to see her best friend in the whole wide world. But the next instant Hua caught sight of the person behind Chen and she cracked up, making a weird noise as she tried to control her laugh for a second before she burst out.
Huo Zenghai, who had been looking at his mobile with full concentration, had also heard the door open and correctly assumed that it was Xia and Chen.
He suddenly turned his head upon hearing his fiancee making the weird noise like a snort and saw Xi Hua clutching her stomach and almost falling from her chair as she roared with laughter. He followed her gaze and his eyes fell on Yu Chen and Si Xia.
Zenghai should be given proper credit for the fact that he managed to control his laugh for five whole seconds before he also burst out laughing.
The cause of the laughter, Si Xia glared at Yu Chen who gave him a very sweet and innocent smile as she linked her arm with his. "I think you're really pretty." she said and led him to the only table in the private room.
"Oh my god. . . . . . Xia. . . . . . you look so . . . . . . .oh god. . . . . . puuuu!!" Xi Hua managed to speak between laughs before she whipped out her phone and began to take pictures of Si Xia, who sat like a grumpy child beside Yu Chen,who was doing a very good job of holding her laughter.
For Xia's proof of his love, Yu Chen had put make-up on him. And not just any make-up, she had dolled him up like a princess on her wedding day. And with Xia's tuxedo, grumpy expression and king-like aura, the make-up looked extra-ordinarily funny.
Once the three of them had had a hearty laugh, Huo Zenghai spoke, "Oh my god! I don't even wanna know what she did to get that on you."
Xi Hua was gasping for breath as she spoke, "She wouldn't have had to do anything. Xia is always willing to do anything for her."
