Chapter 384: Looking like a snack
"Because it's definitely working." Xia finished his sentence in a deep voice, resting his forehead against Chen's.
"It's nothing more than an innocent zipper." Chen giggled.
Xia laughed as he lightly pecked Chen's forehead and murmured, "It's anything but innocent." He started trailing down kisses from Chen's forehead, all over her face and moving down to her throat.
"Umm. . . . . We have to meet Zenghai and Hua. . . . . ." Chen spoke with a moan, struggling to keep her train of thought rational.
Xia sighed and stopped. "Let's stop before I have to go get a cold shower." he grumbled as Chen turned around with a giggle and Xia zipped her up, his fingers deliberately brushing against her bare back, sending a shiver down Chen's spine.
She suppressed a moan as Xia asked with a frown, "You're wearing this to dinner?" he had just now realized that Chen looked absolutely ravishing, and other men were definitely going to see that.
"Yeah. Why?" Chen asked.
"It's too revealing. You look a bit too sexy." Xia replied with a pout.
Yu Chen raised an eyebrow as she turned to completely face him and put her hands on her hips. "Too revealing?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Don't take it the wrong way. I just don't like it when other men stare at you, which I'm sure they're bound to do tonight." he said.
Chen huffed, "I was planning on wearing a jacket. But now I'm not so sure."
Xia raised his eyebrows and closed the distance between them. He gently kissed Chen's earlobe and whispered, "Don't be angry. It's just that you look too good. And I tend to get a tad too jealous."
Yu Chen lost her train of thought for a few seconds before she shook her head to focus. "Is it bad that I look good?" she asked.
"Definitely not. You always look good. I just hate it when other men look at you like you are a dessert." Xia replied in her most seductive voice.
"But I have to deal with every other women looking at you like you are a snack twenty four seven." Chen replied, rolling her eyes.
Si Xia huffed, "I don't look that good."
Chen: "Says the man on the country's most eligible bachelor list."
Xia sighed and finally gave up. "Fine. But I'm gouging out the eyes of any man who looks at you funny." he spoke.
Yu Chen beamed, going over to her dressing table, "Seems like you'll be busy tonight." She brushed her hair, rearranged her butterfly clips and began to do some light make-up.
Xia felt a pang of pain in his heart, looking at the meticulously glued together clips. He had still not forgiven himself for all he had made Chen go through because of his idiotic behavior.
His eyes then met Chen's who was looking at him in the mirror and she let out a reassuring smile, almost as if she could read his mind. Xia's face also broke into a smile as he remembered Chen's words.
"Our relationship might not be unbreakable. We will fight sometimes. But we'll always glue it back together. No matter how tattered it becomes."
He walked forward and placed a hand on the back on Chen's chair.
"I know I act like an idiot sometimes. But you do know how much I love you right?" Xia spoke, his voice barely above a whisper.
