Chapter 376: Chen is a princess
"Don't scold him. He's just worried about me. You were really worried. Weren't you?" Yu Chen said, finishing her sentence by burying her face in Oreo's fur and showering him with kisses.
Si Xia: "...." He was already being ignored. Xia shuddered as a wave of jealousy ran through him.
"Anyway, how are you feeling?" Si Xia asked, gently leading Chen to the bed and making her sit.
Yu Chen laughed as Oreo jumped down from her lap and sat near her foot, wagging his tail.
Seeing the two so ready to do anything at her command, Chen felt like a princess.
"I have slight cramps but don't worry. I'll be fine once I eat the medicine. You bought the medicine I asked, didn't you?" Chen spoke, stroking Xia's arm to ease his worry.
"Yeah." Si Xia spoke getting up, "Come on, I'll make you breakfast." he said and took Chen's hand.
"Come on Oreo." Xia added and the three of them walked out of the room. Suddenly Chen's face appeared in the doorway and she said, "Come on Mi Chang. You must be hungry right?" Mi Chang nodded with a smile which Yu Chen returned.
As she came out of Xia's room, Mi Chang's eyes fell on Xia and Chen walking down the stairs with Oreo.
Si Xia had picked up Oreo with one arm and had the other around Chen's waist. Yu Chen was giggling at something Xia had said while ruffling Oreo's fur, who was barking joyfully.
Mi Chang was suddenly struck by how perfect they looked together.
She had already seen that Si Xia and Yu Chen together looked like a completed puzzle, fitting perfectly with each other. But with Oreo added in the mix, the three looked like a happy family straight from a happily ever after.
Chang hung her head as she sighed to herself, "What the hell am I doing here?"
She stood lost in thought for a long time before she walked downstairs to the kitchen.
There, Chang was once again hit by the perfect family.
Si Xia was working in the kitchen with a smile on his face as he buzzed around humming a song. Yu Chen sat on a stool with her elbows resting on one edge of the counter and her head in her hands. She also had a huge smile plastered on her face as she swayed to the song Xia was humming.
On the floor, Oreo was happily munching into the treats Chen kept giving him and adding a bark at the most weird moments, like he was taking part in the song.
"Oh Chang! Come on. Take a seat at the table. Breakfast won't take long." Si Xia's voice brought Chang out of her thoughts.
"What are you making?" Chang asked with a smile as she sat on a chair.
"Toast and scrambled eggs." Si Xia replied.
"It was my favourite dish in London!!" Chen shrieked. "And it doesn't take much time." Xia added.
Mi Chang nodded as Chen continued, "I want coffee too!!!"
Si Xia frowned and pointed a ladle at her, "No. No caffeine. All you get is warm milk."
Yu Chen pouted and spoke in a small voice, "Okay. Mom!!!!"
