Chapter 371: We were just kids when we fell in love
Xi Hua laughed as she put her hand in Zenghai's. "You're determined to embarrass me?"
Zenghai also laughed as he placed his free hand on the small of Hua's back, "Forever."
Light music rung through the auditorium and Si Xia started singing.
His voice sent goosebumps through the skin of almost everyone in the auditorium.
He sang, eyes closed and completely emersed in the song, "Cause we were just kids when we fell in love,
Not knowing what it was,
I will not give you up, this time."
Many people didn't understand the lyrics as it was an English song but they were moved to tears by the deep feeling in Xia's voice.
Si Xia continued to sing 'Perfect', Chen's favourite song as she closed her eyes and revisited all of her high school memories.
The song fitted both her and Xia, and Hua and Zenghai perfectly.
They were all kids when they fell in love, and none of them exactly knew what it was. All they knew was that they couldn't bear to live without the other person.
The song came to an end and everyone started clapping.
Yu Chen opened her eyes and looked at the couple on the stage, Huo Zenghai and Xi Hua looked perfect in their matching outfits, touching their foreheads together and smiling with tears streaking down their cheeks.
Chen chuckled as her eyes wandered over to Si Xia, who, to her surprise, was wiping tears from a handkerchief.
Once Xia was composed enough, he spoke in a jolly voice, "Congratulations to the happy couple. We won't take up any more of your time dear friends. Thank you."
Chen giggled and whipped out her phone to text Xi Hua, but she suddenly realised tears had sneaked out of her eyes, rolled down her cheeks and made her sweater damp, god knows when.
Yu Chen wiped away her tears and texted Xi Hua, 'Congratulations!!!!!'
Xi Hua's reply came once she sat back down in her seat.
'You little devil!! You knew everything, didn't you!?!' Hua replied.
Chen stuck out her tongue and send a smiling emoji.
Xi Hua: 'I guess the position of my best friend is empty now.'
Yu Chen: 'How could you do that to me????? After all the trouble I went through?'
Xi Hua: 'What trouble?'
Yu Chen rolled her eyes, 'Who do you think taught Mr. two left feet there to dance?'
Xi Hua sent a lot of exclamation marks and Chen sent a laughing emoji.
Their chat was interrupted as the event ended and the VIPs started leaving the venue one by one.
Chen was above the moon as Zenghai and Hua left, walking side by side and looking the happiest Chen had ever seen them.
She anticipated Si Xia walking from beside her seat. Chen wanted to run upto him and hug him and tell him how great of a singer he was.
But of course, all she could do was silently cheer for him and tell him she loved him as he walked past her seat.
Xia actually slowed down a bit as he reached her row and Chen's heart was almost in her mouth.
He wasn't thinking of blowing her cover, was he?
