Chapter 364: Going public
Yu Chen turned into an absolute fangirl of the couple as they walked arm in arm, wearing matching outfits and looking like two pieces of a puzzle that completely fit together.
The anchor welcoming the VIPs at the entrance of the event venue stopped Zenghai for the customary signing of the 'wall of fame', which contained signatures of all the people accomplished in the tech industry.
As Zenghai handed the pen back to the anchor, she asked with a knowing smile, "Mr. Huo Zenghai, if you don't mind me asking? Who's your date? And I must say, she is indeed lovely."
Huo Zenghai smiled and wrapped an arm around Hua's shoulders. He spoke, "If you really wanna know, this is Xi Hua, my girlfriend."
The anchor fake pouted and laughed, "That is a real shame. I'm sure all the girls here today and watching our live telecast are very sad to know that you are taken."
Zenghai's eyes melted as he looked at Xi Hua. "Believe me. I've been taken for a very long time, you guys are just coming to know it now."
The anchor raised her eyebrows and spoke, "Miss Xi Hua, I'm sure our audience would love to know how long have you two been dating?"
Xi Hua's lips curved into an angelic smile as she said, "If you'll believe me, we've been together since high school."
"Oh my god!! High school sweethearts!" the anchor fangirled, "But may I ask, Mr. Huo, why is it that we are coming to know about Miss Xi now only? How come you didn't bring her to any past events?"
Yu Chen frowned and made a face. This was a tricky question. If not answered properly, it could make either Hua or Zenghai look quite bad.
Zenghai scratched his head and said, "Well, I had no idea everyone would be so interested in my personal life. If I had known the people wanted to meet my girlfriend do much, we would definitely have gone public with our relationship long ago."
The anchor smiled and said, "Well, all I can say is that we are all sad that you hid such a beauty from us for so long. But, I'm sure everyone around here wishes you both a happy life."
There was a cheer from the crowd as another car stopped at the end of the red carpet and Hua and Zenghai headed in.
Chen internally cheered and clapped at Zenghai's presence of wit. He had very tactfully answered the question which indirectly put the blame on the public for being too nosy in Zenghai's personal life and didn't show either Hua or Zenghai in a bad light.
The red carpet event was almost at it's climax when the most awaited person of the night appeared.
The anchor cheered into her mic, "Folks! I think the person we've all been waiting for is finally here!!" as a black Rolls Royce stopped at the end of the red carpet.
Many people watched in anticipation as the door of the Rolls Royce opened and a tall leg draped in royal blue pants appeared.
Si Xia climbed out of his car and straightened up, buttoning his coat.
Yu Chen also swooned along with almost all the girls in and around the auditorium as Xia fully came into view, looking very handsome and very sexy.
