Chapter 357: I'll have to get you drunk
Their hug was interrupted suddenly as Zenghai's phone rang.
Huo Zenghai looked at the caller ID and spoke, "Talk of the devil." before picking up the call.
After a brief conversation, he held the phone towards Yu Chen, who had sat back down and was sipping on some beer. She took Zenghai's phone with a raised eyebrow and put it to her ear. "Hello?" she spoke.
"Where the hell have you been!?!?!?? I've tried your cell like a million times!! Why is it switched off!!!" Xi Hua's voice came from the other end as Yu Chen held the phone away from her ear.
Zenghai chuckled as he also sat down and took up his can of beer.
"My phone? Oh shoot! It's out of battery. Can I use your charger Zenghai?" Chen said and walked away, still listening to Xi Hua scold her.
When Yu Chen came back, she plopped down on the sofa and said, "All's final then. We just need to book a singer."
Huo Zenghai scratched his head, "Actually, I had someone in mind."
"Who? Who????" Yu Chen asked jumping up and down in her seat.
Zenghai took his phone and said while dialling a number, "Why was Hua so angry anyway?"
Chen shrugged, "She wanted to take me shopping. You made for a great excuse."
Huo Zenghai threw her a dirty glance before saying to the person on the phone, "Hello? Yeah. Did you think about it? Not sure?. . .
Fine. This will convince you."
Saying this Zenghai once again handed his mobile to Yu Chen, who took it with a questioning glance and put it to her ear.
Yu Chen: "Hello?"
The next instant, Chen's eyes widened in shock as she stared at the caller ID before putting it back to her ear. "XIA!?!?!?!??"
Yu Chen shrieked into the phone and Huo Zenghai chuckled, imagining Si Xia's face.
A slow song was playing on Chen's phone and she and Zenghai were dancing a slow dance when suddenly the doorbell rang.
Huo Zenghai scratched his head, "I really hope it isn't Hua? But who could it be?"
Chen chuckled as she patted his shoulder, "It should be your singer. But I have to make sure he's good enough."
Si Xia entered looking very sceptical. He threw a dark look at Huo Zenghai and said, "You better prepare for a demotion."
Chen was about to reprimand him when Zenghai chuckled as he patted Xia's back, "I don't care as long as this goes perfect. You can fire me if you want. I already have enough money to eat for a lifetime."
Si Xia sighed as Yu Chen hung on his arm. "You sing? How come I never heard about it?"
Si Xia: "I don't. At least not when I'm sober. This devil and some of my other colleagues once made me sing when we had quite a bit to drink."
Yu Chen: "So, I'll have to get you drunk to see some of your talents, huh?"
Si Xia: "..."
Huo Zenghai laughed, "You get him drunk once Chen. You'll see a lot of talents."
Yu Chen said, nodding her head, "Maybe I will get him drunk one of these days."
Si Xia: "...."
He changed the topic, "Anyway, which song do you want me to sing. And remember, this is just a one time thing."
