Chapter 318: Everything will be all right
Back at the apartment, Yu Chen had just come out of the shower when the doorbell rang.
She tilted her head and went to the door, wondering who it was.
As she opened the door, Chen caught a brief glimpse of the hallway before she was engulfed in a hug. Chen chuckled as she stroked Hua's back, "I'm glad to see you too, Hua. And hii Zenghai. So sorry to bother you last night."
Xi Hua pulled away and glared at Chen, "I'm never going drinking with you! Ever again!!"
Yu Chen let out a smile, "From the hangover I had, neither am I."
"So, what happened with....." Huo Zenghai asked, wondering if it was all right to name Si Xia.
Yu Chen sighed, "How bad was I that you're afraid to take Xia's name in front of me."
"But everything's all right now, isn't it?" Xi Hua asked, hanging on Chen's arm.
"It will be." Yu Chen replied as Zenghai changed the topic, "So, what's for breakfast?"
Chen rolled her eyes as Hua headed to the living room, "I'm recovering from the worst hangover of my life and you're asking me to make breakfast?"
Huo Zenghai scratched his head when Xi Hua's shriek came from the living room.
Zenghai was immediately alarmed and ran into the living room, and Chen made a guilty face and followed.
"What's wrong Hua!?!?! Is someone here!?!?" Huo Zenghai exclaimed as he rushed into the living room.
Xi Hua ignored him and looked past at Yu Chen who had just entered, "Our landlady will throw us out!!"
"Huh?" Huo Zenghai frowned and followed Chen, who walked to the couch and picked up something wrapped in a blanket. "I just got him to sleep after having some milk. And look, you woke him up again." Che grumbled as Zenghai beamed, "Oreo!!!"
He rushed forward to play with the little dog but immediately frowned upon seeing Oreo's lack of enthusiasm. "Is something wrong with Oreo? Is he sick?" he asked.
Chen nodded as she cradled Oreo, "That's why I brought him here. I'm gonna take him to the vet."
"But he can't stay here!! Our landlady will kick us out if her allergies start reacting." Hua exclaimed.
Chen looked Xi Hua in the eyes, "He's staying with me for the day. Zenghai can take him to his home tonight. You'll keep him, won't you Zenghai?"
Huo Zenghai nodded as Chen's lips curved into a smile. "Besides, if the landlady does kick us out, Zenghai will be glad to have you. And me and Oreo will find some new place where he is allowed."
"Does that mean he isn't going back to live with Xia?" Huo Zenghai asked with a frown as Xi Hua huffed and headed into her room.
Yu Chen shrugged, "He can have Oreo back when he is able to take proper care of him."
"Oh that reminds me. You left your purse back at Xia's. I called your phone and he picked up. You can use my phone to ask him to drop off your purse." Xi Hua said as she headed out of her room and towards the bathroom.
"Oh that's all right. I think a day without my phone will do me good." Yu Chen shrugged as she lay down Oreo again.
