"That sounds to me a lot like sugar coating the words 'I can't even think of leaving him because I'm too much of a coward. I'm willing to endure whatever he does to me.' " Sam snapped.
Yu Chen sighed, "Maybe I am too much of a coward. But you know my motto, right Sam?"
Sam rolled his eyes, "Everyone deserves a second chance."
"But, no one deserves a third. That is the complete motto. And I mean that, no one. Not even me myself." Yu Chen said.
Sam huffed, "But you're not even giving me a single chance. I can love you better than him, I'll make sure that you never even have to shed a single tear."
Yu Chen sighed and got up, "You wouldn't get it. And it seems like you're not even trying to. Oh, forget it! I'm going down."
She said and climbed down from the roof.
Yu Chen sighed and turned her head to look at Si Xia. "And that was what happened. I never kissed him. I wouldn't even dream about it ever." she added and turned silent.
"Then.....that photograph? It didn't look photoshopped." Si Xia asked in a small voice.
Yu Chen was deep in thought before she replied, "I have an idea about that. And I'll explain it to you soon enough. Just trust me that I never kissed him."
Si Xia looked up and nodded.
Yu Chen exhaled, "Now, I must be getting back home." She said and stood up. The medicine had worked like magic, Chen's headache was almost gone and she didn't feel even the least bit dizzy.
Si Xia said in a disappointed voice, "You're.....still leaving?"
Yu Chen: "I stayed because you wanted to talk. Now that we've talked, I'm leaving."
Si Xia stood up, "But it was all a big misunderstanding. I'm sorry for whatever I did."
Yu Chen sighed, "I knew it was some kind of a misunderstanding. But I need to wrap my head around some things. I...need time."
Si Xia felt his heart squeeze. But he knew deep down that he deserved it. After what he had done, believing that liar's words too, he did not deserve to be with Chen. But his heart couldn't stop hoping.
"What do you need to think about? About..... us?" Si Xia asked, his voice faltering.
"Goodbye Xia." Yu Chen said, turning around.
Si Xia blinked back his tears and ran after You Chen. "At least let me drive you back." Xia said falling into step with her.
Yu Chen nodded without a word and the two headed out of his bedroom.
Just as he pulled open the door, Si Xia frowned. He had caught a glimpse of a bright pink fabric fluttering from the corner of his eye.
"Chang? Is that you?" Xia called out, and sure enough, Mi Chang turned the corner her face full of surprise, "Xia? How did you know I was coming up to your room?"
Si Xia rolled his eyes and walked away, but Yu Chen had caught the woman glaring at her.
She bowed with the most angelic smile she could manage, "Hii. I believe we haven't been properly introduced yet. I'm Yu Chen."
"Mi Chang. Pleased to meet you." Chang also forced out a smile.
Yu Chen suddenly remembered something at the sight of Chang's forced smile. Her mind was clearer now.
