Chapter 300: You didn't tell Zenghai, did you?
Xi Hua stared at her phone on the bed for a long time before she made a decision.
She picked it up and messaged Huo Zenghai, 'Chen wants to go drinking. But I'm worried she'll go overboard. Can you come check on us after about an hour?'
Huo Zenghai instantly replied, 'Of course. Where are you going?'
"Hua!?!?! Are you done?" Chen's voice came from outside the exact moment Zenghai's reply came.
"Just a sec. Say Chen? Where are we going?" Hua yelled back.
"I don't know. You decide." Chen's reply came.
"How about night city?" Xi Hua asked.
Yu Chen: "Sure. I don't really mind."
"Okay then. I'm almost done." Xi Hua said as she hurriedly typed the name of the bar they had decided and sent it to Zenghai.
Yu Chen, unable to wait any longer, burst in just as Xi Hua threw her phone back on the bed.
Chen stood at the door and stared at Hua up and down. She let out a whistle as she walked forward, "I'm worried about Zenghai if you're going out in that. You look so beautiful!"
Xi Hua let out an awkward smile as Yu Chen curled her long hair and put make-up on her.
While she was doing this, Hua's phone buzzed once or twice.
"You sure you don't want to reply?" Chen asked as she busied with Hua's hair.
Xi Hua shrugged, "It must be Zenghai. He was asking what I was doing tonight."
Yu Chen looked into Hua's eyes as she asked, "You didn't tell him we were going drinking, did you?"
Xi Hua shook her head and averted her eyes, "What? Of course not! I told him I had a headache and would turn in after dinner."
Yu Chen looked guilty as she said, "Sorry that you had to lie to Zenghai for me."
"Only if you knew who I am really lying to." Hua thought as she said out aloud, "Don't mention it. We are best friends, aren't we?"
Yu Chen let out a huge smile, "Yeah we are. I'm done. Look. Tell me how does it look."
Chen backed away and Xi Hua turned to look in the mirror.
"I look beautiful!!!" Hua muttered as she touched her face.
"You are beautiful!!" Chen said, handing her phone. "Now come on. Let's go!!!" She said and pulled Hua out of her room.
Huo Zenghai had been in a meeting when he received Xi Hua's message.
He had been replying to Hua with her phone under the table and did not listen to Si Xia calling him.
"Huo Zenghai!!!!!!" Si Xia thundered and Huo Zenghai jumped in his seat.
"Yeah." He said, quickly pocketing his phone.
"I assume you have much more important things to do in your phone than to pay attention in the meeting." Si Xia said in a stern voice.
Huo Zenghai opened his mouth to answer but Xia cut him off, "I don't want to hear excuses. I'm not satisfied with this report and I expect another one in an hour."
Huo Zenghai said nothing as he slumped back in his chair. Si Xia would definitely work himself to death, and everyone in the company along with him.
Yu Chen and Xi Hua reached the night city bar and Chen got out as Xi Hua went to park the car.
