Chapter 286: What's wrong with everyone?
Huo Zenghai looked at Si Xia sitting beside him, staring at Oreo in his lap.
Zenghai opened his mouth like he wanted to say something, but closed it after a minute.
After he repeated this process a few times, Zenghai finally sighed as he made up his mind. He fixed Xia with a stare as the car stopped at a red light, and said, "Why Xia?"
Si Xia looked up with a dazed look and said, "I don't know."
Huo Zenghai: "Why did you do that?"
Si Xia: "I don't know."
Huo Zenghai: "How were you even able to ignore Chen like that?"
Si Xia: "I don't know."
Huo Zenghai: "....."
He sighed and started the car. Zenghai knew that he was not getting an answer.
He drove Si Xia to his bungalow silently and was really very surprised to see Mi Chang.
But he said nothing and left after making sure Xia was okay and throwing a confused glance towards Mi Chang.
Xi Hua went to see Yu Chen when she got a break from her shift.
Hua sighed as she sat beside Chen's bed, massaging her head. Yu Chen was already looking a lot better, the colour was already returning to her lips and her skin looked the usual jade. Hua stroked Chen's hand and heaved a sigh of relief, her body was warm enough now. She looked more like she was asleep now, rather than ill.
Hua muttered as she held Chen's hand, "Rest for now Chen. You're going to get an earful from me when you do wake up. And I'll make sure you don't sneak out again, I don't care if I have to tie you to the sofa. I'll stop you."
Yu Chen blinked, opened her eyes and groaned. Her whole body was aching. She tried to turn to her side to get more sleep but something tugged at her arm. What was that? Was the blanket tucked away weirdly?
Chen wondered as she felt her left hand with her right. Chen's eyes flew open as she felt the needles stuck to her left hand.
She groaned again and held her head. What happened?
Chen ransacked her memory. That's right! She was at Xia's bungalow! Where was she now!?
Chen opened her eyes again and looked around. She was in a hospital room??!!
What the hell happened!?!
Yu Chen tried her best, but she couldn't remember anything after Si Xia went inside and she decided to go home.
Home!?!?!
God!!!! She was in it again!!! Hua was going to bite off her ear! But where was she?
Yu Chen called out and a nurse came in. She smiled upon seeing Chen, "You're awake? Great! Let me get the doctor, he'll run some tests on you and then I'll get you some breakfast. What do you say? You need something?" The nurse asked as Chen tried to sit up.
The nurse stopped her and said, "Tell me if you need anything. Please don't move until the doctor gives the green light." Yu Chen stopped trying seeing the worried look on the nurse's face and asked, "Is someone here? Hua? Xia?"
The nurse smiled, "I'll call Xi Hua. She should be able to come here. Okay?"
Yu Chen's face also broke into a smile, "Thanks. Sorry for troubling you."
