Chapter 283: How could you!?!?
Si Xia was actually on the verge of going mad when he had found Yu Chen lying on the ground like that.
He took her in his arms and started shouting, asking her to wake up, open her eyes, give him any sign. Anything.
Tears flowed non-stop from Xia's eyes as he shook Chen's body, looking like a crazy person.
"Chen?!!!! Chen!?!?!?! CHEN!!!!!!" Xia did not know how many times he repeated the same word, hoping every time to get some reaction form the person he was calling out to, but losing a bit of hope with every shout.
Si Xia would probably have kept shouting Chen's name the whole night if Oreo had not suddenly bit his hand.
Xia stopped dead, stared at the barking Oreo for some time before looking back to the lifeless girl in his arms.
The bite seemed to have gotten some sense in him, he got up and mumbled, "She'll be fine. The hospital. We need to get her to a hospital. She'll be fine."
He picked up Chen and started running towards the front gate with her in his arms.
At this point, Mi Chang recovered from her trance and yelled, "XIA!!! A CAR!!! TAKE A CAR!!!"
Si Xia seemed like a crazy person as he turned and rushed like a bull towards the garage. He placed Yu Chen in the brown Ferrari and rushed out to get the keys as Oreo bounded towards the car and jumped in, curling up on Chen's lap.
Xia ran in the house, got the keys, and rushed towards the hospital.
Mi Chang stared towards the front gate long after Xia's car disappeared. She had known him quite a few years, and had never seen him so flustered. He had been bordering on crazy just now, maybe he really had gone crazy.
Mi Chang shook her head in self-pity. It was clear that this woman she had taken to be a random fangirl was really important to Si Xia. Maybe she was the one. He loved her. That much was clear.
Si Xia drove to the hospital at such a pace that if Yu Chen had been awake, she might have fainted from fright.
He rushed out as soon as they reached the hospital, Chen in his arms and Oreo running behind him, barking like crazy.
Yu Chen was immediately admitted in the emergency ward and Xia and Oreo were asked to wait outside.
Si Xia sat with his head in his arms, cursing the time he left Chen alone outside his house.
WHAM!!!!!! His head jerked up as he received a tight slap right across the cheek.
Si Xia stared at the furious Xi Hua in her nurse uniform for a few seconds before dropping his head again.
"HOW. DARE. YOU. DO. THAT. TO. HER!!!!!" Hua yelled as she hit Xia with each word. And probably would have continued, if the other nurses and doctors had not restrained her.
"How dare you!?!?!? She sneaked out didn't she!?!! She sneaked out to talk to you!!!! How could you let this happen to her!?!?!" Hua screamed as she struggled against all the people holding her away from Si Xia, who just sat with his head in his hands.
