Chapter 282: Mi Chang
Mi Chang walked in, holding a tray, with a cup of something steaming on it.
She set the tray on a table and walked over to Si Xia with the cup in her hand.
"I thought I heard you moving about. I made some coffee for you." She said, handing Xia the cup.
Si Xia frowned as he took the cup, "It's not nice to have coffee so late in the night. It can affect your sleep."
"Ohhh." was the only reply Mi Chang could manage. She stared out of the window and said, "Do you think she's still there? That woman?"
Si Xia shook his head, "I hope not. But I'm never sure as to what she will do."
Mi Chang was visibly taken aback, "You know her? Like personally?"
Si Xia frowned and looked at her like she was an idiot, "Of course. Why else do you think she's here?"
"I thought she was just some random fangirl." Chang said in a small voice.
Si Xia shook his head, he looked annoyed, "Why do you think Oreo is so familiar with her? That should be enough to see I.... know her."
Mi Chang hung her head. Si Xia still seemed just as distant. No emotions on his face, being kind but still pushing people away.
She shook her head and opened her mouth to say something, but Si Xia beat her to it, "Say Chang, did you see Oreo while you were bringing me the coffee?"
Mi Chang tilted her head, "Oreo? No I did not. Though I think I did hear him whining somewhere by the front door."
Xia held his forehead, "Of course. Something seemed the matter with him. It's good that he didn't behave like Saturday."
Chang was about to say something, but Xia beat her to it again, "Anyway, you should get some sleep. It's really late."
Mi Chang understood that this was her cue to leave. She was dejected, and turned around to leave, but had barely made it to Si Xia's bedroom door when the sound of barking started coming form outside.
It was not usual, the dog seemed to be really worried, and the barks sounded like they were very near, maybe in the yard.
Before Mi Chang could register what was happening, Si Xia had rushed past her and was already bounding down the stairs.
Mi Chang rushed after him, and Xia was already out of the front door by the time she had descended the stairs.
As Mi Chang ran to the door, she stopped dead. Si Xia was kneeling on the snow covered ground and Oreo was furiously bounding and barking beside him.
I'm Xia's arms, was the same woman from before, she looked ill, really ill.
Chen's whole body was deathly pale and her lips were blue. She had gotten all covered with snow by the time Oreo had found an open window and rushed out.
But this was not what stopped Chang dead in her tracks, she didn't care much about this woman, she had seen her for the first time just two days ago. It was the sight of Si Xia's face.
Xia was shouting and his face, especially his eyes, looked like he had gone crazy.
