Chapter 277: You are not going back there!!
Yu Chen was horrified as she hurriedly removed the muzzle and Oreo let out a grateful bark.
He began to lick Chen's face and hands as she hugged him, saying, "So sorry Oreo. So sorry."
Chen suddenly looked up with a start when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She saw Xi Hua, looking very stern.
But her brows furrowed when she saw Chen's face and she sighed, "What are you doing Chen?"
Yu Chen said nothing as she showed the muzzle on the floor to Xi Hua. Hua's eyes widened as she stared from the muzzle to Chen, and then to Oreo.
Chen said, "Can we take him home, Hua?"
Xi Hua sighed. She really wanted to. "Sorry Chen. Dogs aren't allowed in our building. The owner has some kind of allergy."
Yu Chen nodded and went back to stroking Oreo. Hua continued, "I'll talk to Xia. And if he continues to act this way with Oreo, we can take him to Zenghai's place."
Chen looked up with an expectant look, "Really?!?! Zenghai won't mind?"
Hua shook her head.
After Oreo had eaten and was asleep in Chen's lap, Hua turned to her.
She said with a stern face, "Chen. You shouldn't have sneaked out."
Yu Chen replied without even looking up, "What else should I have done? Just watch as Xia drifts further away from me? Or run away?"
Xi Hua was silent for a minute before she said, "I don't care. You are not spoiling your health like that."
Yu Chen: "....."
Xi Hua: "I mean come on! Sneaking out that day was not that big of a deal. You did not exactly sneak out even. You left a note. I was the one who blew things out of proportion!!"
"I don't think it's about that." Chen said in a small voice.
Xi Hua snapped, "Then the least Si Xia can do is tell us what the hell it is about!! And look up, will you!!!!"
Chen slowly looked up. Seeing her face, Xi Hua stopped dead. Chen was not crying, but her face bore such a sad expression that Hua was immediately angered at Si Xia for making her angel like that. She grabbed Chen's hand and said, "Come on. We are going home. Oreo will be fine!!"
Saying this she dragged Chen out of Si Xia's bungalow, the latter offering no resistance as she let herself be dragged away and got into Hua' car.
In the car...
Xi Hua was tapping on the steering wheel with her long nails, and Yu Chen was looking out of the window.
As they waited for the light to turn green, Hua turned towards Chen, "You won't go back there."
Yu Chen: "....."
Hua: "Chen! You are not going back there."
Chen: "....."
"Damn it Chen, look at me." Saying this Xi Hua grabbed Yu Chen's chin and turned her face face away from the window.
Chen's face was strained with tears as she looked into Hua's eyes. "I won't go back there if you can tell me what else to do." She said, tears still flowing from her eyes.
Xi Hua: "We'll... We'll think of something. Just don't go there to stand out in the snow."
