Chen ran towards the door, turned the knob, and found it unlocked. She opened the door with trembling fingers and Oreo ran in as soon as the door opened, barking loudly.
Yu Chen hurried in and then heaved a sigh of relief before shushing Oreo.
Si Xia was fine, just sleeping. She checked his temperature and found that he did not have a fever.
Yu Chen felt guilty as she stared at the sleeping silhouette. It was because of her that he had to be up so late and had switched off his phone, as a result of which his alarm hadn't rung.
She tip-toed out of the room relieved to find Xia was well. Chen went into the kitchen, Oreo whining behind her.
Yu Chen chuckled as she patted Oreo's head, "He didn't give anything to eat to you right? Well, I doubt he ate anything himself too."
Saying this Chen filled Oreo's bowl with dog food before busying herself in the kitchen.
She re-entered Si Xia's room half an hour later with a tray of breakfast in her hand, Oreo following behind, full and happy.
Chen set the tray on Xia's bedside table, put her letter along with it, and then stood deliberating.
She really wanted to talk to Xia face to face, but apparently he was really angry and she would probably end up being kicked out.
Yu Chen sighed as she picked up his phone, switched in on, and set an alarm for ten minutes later.
She then stood at Xia's bedside for ten seconds, stroking his face and hair, before stooping down, kissing his lips lightly and murmuring, "I took my good luck kiss. Hope you don't mind."
Saying this she quickly ran out of the room, down the stairs and out of the window, with Oreo following her.
Chen squatted down once she reached the front gate, held Oreo in her arms, and stroked and kissed him before saying, "Take care of him, okay?" and ran out of the gate.
The fifteen minutes could be over any time.
While she was outside, Yu Chen did not notice a face in Si Xia's bedroom window. Si Xia stood on front of his window, stroking his lips with a torn expression on his face.
He finally sighed as Chen ran out of the front gate, "I guess this is more of a punishment for me than for her, huh?" before going to his bedside and picking up the letter.
Yu Chen ran all the way back to the apartment. She was panting as as she climbed the stairs, afraid that Hua would be worried. But as Yu Chen entered the apartment, she saw that all her fears were I'll founded. She crumpled and threw away the note she had written before going inside her bedroom.
Yu Chen plopped down on the bed facedown. She buried her face in her pillow as tears threatened to fall from her eyes. "He was awake! He was awake and he didn't even look at me." Chen mumbled as she turned to her side and pulled her knees to her chest.
