As a matter of fact, they did not, Yu Chen picked up Si Xia's call just as he had reached Hua's apartment and Huo Zenghai was getting ready to leave his home to come over.
"Where the hell are you!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" Si Xia thundered in his phone.
On the other hand....
A few minutes before...
Yu Chen had been dancing non-stop for quite some time and was completely drenched in sweat and panting as she finished a couple hip-hop dance with another girl. Chen's tank top and jacket stuck to her and she was panting heavily under her mask.
As another person came forward to dance against her, Yu Chen put up her hands, "Could you guys give me a moment. I really need to catch my breath."
There were disappointed sounds from the crowd but they seemed to understand.
"Of course doll, you're the best dancer I've seen. I would hate if you dropped from exhaustion." A man spoke up.
"She has been dancing non-stop for so much time. I really agree that she needs a breather." Another boy said.
"Rest up queen. Come back to take your throne when you feel like it." The girl who had just danced with Chen shouted.
Yu Chen smiled gratefully at the crowd, though they could not see it, and made her way down the stage.
She went and sat on the ground in a dark corner, leaned on a pole, and took off her mask, "Whew. I got quite carried away. I think I blew off too much steam." Yu Chen said to herself as she fanned herself with the mask.
"Hey, so can I get a name of the dancing godess?" A voice came from beside her and Yu Chen hurriedly put on her mask before looking in the direction.
It was the lanky boy with whom Chen had had her first dance battle. He sat down beside her and took off the cap from Chen's head, "I believe this belongs to me?"
Yu Chen apologized, "I'm so sorry. I took it in the heat of the moment."
The boy shook his head, "I wouldn't have asked for it but this one is my lucky cap. I would be happy to give you one of my other ones."
Yu Chen: "I would be obliged. You really are a great dancer. One of the best I've ever seen."
The boy tilted his head, "You think so? I'm really just a bit above average."
Chen shook her head, "Humility most of the times is only an offense to one's own skills. And I rather beleive you have great potential."
The boy's eyes sparkled, "You think so? I'm Jackson by the way."
Chen: "It's a great stage name. Suits your style too."
The boy blushed, "What about you?"
Yu Chen thought for a while, "I don't really have a stage name, I only dance for my own pleasure. You can call me whatever you like."
Jackson raised an eyebrow, "So you're some big-shot? Explains the mask then."
Chen laughed, "Hardly that. I just like dressing up."
Jackson saw that this conversation was going nowhere. He said, "Say, it's getting rather late. How did you come?"
Yu Chen: "I came in a taxi."
Jackson slapped his forehead, "And how do you propose to go back?"
Yu Chen scratched her head guiltily, "In a taxi?"
