Chapter 245: Coding competition
Yu Chen raised an eyebrow, "Nerves?"
Sam: "Don't you remember? It's cook code's annual coding competition tomorrow."
Yu Chen's eyes widened, "Oh yeahhhh!!! Cook code."
Sam frowned, "Don't tell me you've been so engrossed that you forgot about it."
Chen shook her head, "Guilty as charged. But you know, I set a reminder in my phone and it would have buzzed tonight."
Sam sighed, "The effect of slacking too much."
Chen: "Yeah. Says the international slacker."
Sam chuckled, "Maybe. But I would never forget about such an important coding competition."
Yu Chen shook her head and frowned, "No no. Changing topic. Why were you smoking like a crazy person?"
Sam shrugged, "I told you. Didn't I?"
Chen's face turned serious, "Sam, you consider me to be your rival, don't you? So I suggest you don't take me for a fool."
Sam gave up his nonchalant act and said, "Nothing really. Trust me."
Chen sighed and gave it up. She took out her phone when Sam said, "Say Chen, you hungry? I could really use some breakfast."
Chen waved her hand, "I already had breakfast."
Sam called from the phone in the room as he said, "Then don't mind if I do."
He ordered breakfast and then peeped into Chen's phone. She quickly closed the app she was searching something on and frowned, "What's the big idea?"
Sam: "Ohhhhh. You're being secretive. What were you doing?"
Chen frowned at him as she picked up her phone again, "You know. You reminded me of the challenge, and now I need to clear my head."
Sam leaned over, "Ohh!! So this place has dance battles?"
Chen: "That was what I was looking for. Now go, that must be your breakfast."
Yu Chen walked out of the hotel after half an hour looking very happy. She hailed a cab as she called Si Xia.
The call connected and Si Xia's magnetic voice rung out of the phone and stung Chen straight in the heart.
Yu Chen smirked, "So how you doing?"
Si Xia was relieved to see that Chen was all right. He said, "I'm doing great. What about you?"
Yu Chen: "I just have nothing to do and am killing time by distrubing you."
Si Xia: "So why don't you come down for lunch?"
Yu Chen: "I'll pass. I'm not really in the mood for restaurant food. Oh yeah, I have two things to tell you."
"Hmm?"
"First is, Sam wants to meet you tomorrow."
"What?" Si Xia seemed really surprised.
"Well he said he wants to discuss something about collaboration with your company, and any time as soon as possible would be best. But said it would be great if he could talk tomorrow."
"Okay. Send me his number. I'll fix something up." Si Xia had been sure that Sam Darcy would make his move. But he hadn't thought that it would be so soon. Xia believed that he would somehow attack his company or something like that. "What was the second thing?"
"Oh. I'll not go for the run tomorrow." Chen said.
"Why?"
"Well I have a coding competition tomorrow that's kind of a big deal. And I'll probably stay up late due to it." Chen offered an excuse.
"Don't mess up your health." Si Xia seemed to buy it.
Yu Chen blew a kiss and said, "Now you get back to work. Okay?"
