Chapter 242: Sam shops
Yu Chen spent the rest of her day first visiting Hua, then Zenghai and Xia with Sam and then showing him around the city.
Yu Chen plopped on a sofa as she said, "I swear to god, you and Hua will get along like hell!!!"
Sam turned around, two different boots in each hand, "And why is that?"
Chen stared at him and pointed to the numerous shopping bags, which Sam had spent his afternoon accumulating.
Sam chuckled as he tossed away the boots and walked over to Yu Chen, "You want me to buy something for you too?"
Yu Chen was horrified, "If we enter one more shop, you're going to have to pick up my dead body after you're done."
Sam laughed and said, "You really hate shopping that much?"
Chen: "No. I'm a girl after all. But shopping is....too tiring."
Sam turned and tossed his card to the salesperson, saying, "Pack all the four. And quick."
Yu Chen shook her head, "Show-off."
Sam chuckled as he bent forward to tuck a strand of Chen's hair behind her ear, but he ended up brushing her hair as she moved away. "Sam, I told you." Yu Chen warned.
Sam Darcy sat on the sofa beside her and raised his hands in defeat, "Can't blame a man for trying."
Yu Chen mumbled, "I wish you stopped trying."
Sam, upon hearing this, turned his face away and mumbled something, which Yu Chen did not catch.
As she asked, Sam turned towards her with a smile, "Nothing. Want something to eat?"
Yu Chen got up and stretched. Today she was wearing a white star wars t-shirt with blue denim jeans. Her hair were the usual, tucked by the two butterfly clips on each side just above her hair. She pulled on a black hoodie and said, "I would rather go back home... If you're done." She added, fearing that she had been rude.
Sam got up and said, "Yeah, I'm done. Let's go."
As the two went out of the shop, the following conversation was heard between two salesgirls.
1: "That man was so handsome!!! His blonde hair were just wow..."
2: "Yeah. Looked like a foreigner."
1: "How great it would be if someone like that fell for me!!!!!"
2: "Forget about it."
1: "Why? Just cause I'm a salesgirl I can't dream big?"
2: "Sure you can. But I think you didn't look at how the man looked at the woman who was with her."
1: "You think she was his girlfriend?"
2: "Clearly not. The woman was definitely trying to keep her distance."
1: "Friends?"
2: "Probably. That should be the official name of their relationship. But the foreigner was definitely infatuated by the woman."
1: "Seems like all the good ones are taken."
2: "Yeah."
Sam dropped Chen at her apartment in a cab before saying goodbye and going back to his hotel.
The next day was Friday, so Yu Chen went for her usual run with Si Xia and then hung around in the kitchen, watching Si Xia training, or rather getting beaten up in the name of training. He would not let her be on the yard to see him, so Chen had to content herself with sneaking glances out of the window as she made breakfast. Suddenly, her phone rang....
