Chapter 222: Oreo
Si Xia shrugged, "I don't mind it. I've been alone ever since I can remember."
Yu Chen felt sad for Si Xia as she looked at him, wondering what to say. But Si Xia lifted his head and smiled, "But now I'm not alone. I've got you. And Zenghai, Hua and Kio."
Yu Chen rubbed her nose in embarrassment. She said, "But we won't be always at your home right?"
Si Xia looked deeply at her. Yu Chen raised an eyebrow, "Even I will have work and other things."
Si Xia slumped back and began to eat again, "So what do you suggest?"
Yu Chen: "How about you get a dog?"
Si Xia looked up, "A dog?"
Yu Chen was embarrassed, "Don't you like dogs?"
Si Xia thought for a moment, "It's not like I don't like them. I've just never thought about having one."
Yu Chen became excited as she said, "Well you should. It will really light up your home, always be there to welcome you whenever you come home. And it will really be great when I move in."
Throughout the whole of Chen's speech, all Si Xia heard was 'when I move in.' He loved how naturally she said it.
When Si Xia snapped back to reality, Yu Chen was staring at him with expectant eyes. He could not help but think that she looked like a kid wondering if she would be allowed an extra gift for her birthday.
Si Xia smiled and said, "Sure. Let's go to the kennel this weekend."
"Yaayyyyyy." Yu Chen jumped in her seat and spilled the juice all over her hoody.
"Oh no." Yu Chen exclaimed as Si Xia shook his head and helped Chen clean up.
After they had cleaned the table, Si Xia turned to Chen, "Let me get you something to wear."
Yu Chen waved her hand, "It's all right. I'm going home anyways." She said as Chen removed her hoody to reveal a tank top underneath.
As Yu Chen began to walk towards the door, she noticed Si Xia looking at her with a deep gaze. She asked, "What's wrong?"
Si Xia said nothing as he crossed the room with long strides and took Chen in his arms.
Yu Chen was dumbfounded, "What happened?"
Si Xia shook his head, "Nothing." "You are beautiful." He added as an afterthought.
Yu Chen chuckled and said, "If you find me so beautiful lately, how about we do our promised date this Sunday?"
Si Xia nodded, took her hand and led her outside.
That Sunday, Si Xia and Yu Chen had their promised date. The first part was what Chen enjoyed the most, as it consisted of going to the kennel and choosing a dog.
Yu Chen enjoyed herself feeding and stroking various puppies before she settled on a black labrador that had basically jumped into her arms.
Si Xia asked Chen to name him, and Yu Chen decided on Oreo. They brought Oreo back to Si Xia's bungalow after a very fun date and Yu Chen was so sad to leave Oreo when she went back that Si Xia was almost jealous of him.
