Chapter 217: I'm turning into an old woman
As they were talking, Yu Chen let out a huge yawn.
Si Xia chuckled, "Someone seems sleepy."
Yu Chen: "Yeah. I barely got any sleep last night."
Si Xia seemed worried, "Was it because of the nightmares?"
Yu Chen hurriedly assured him, "Nothing of the sort. I stayed up very late watching anime and woke up early due to the nightmare."
Si Xia's voice that came was like a low growl, "When did you go to sleep?"
Yu Chen was afraid to answer the question, but she knew that she would have to, so she said in a small voice, "3:00 a.m."
"Whaaaaatttt?" Si Xia immediately went into mom mode as he began to scold Chen for sleeping so late and destroying her body.
Yu Chen listened like a child who had been found eating candy he was not supposed to.
In her attempt to calm Xia down, she agreed to whatever he said, without really hearing what he was suggesting.
Finally, Si Xia's voice had calmed down as he said, "Okay then. From tonight, I'll call you and you'll have to go to sleep. Call you in the morning and you'll wake up. And then I'll come to pick you up for a run and some work-out."
Now that he was calm, Yu Chen listened to his words and was dumbstruck. When the hell did she agree to this. She knew that Xia was too health conscious, completely opposite of herself, and following his schedule would not be easy.
But before Chen could protest, Si Xia said, "Okay. I've come to the office now. Got to go. Love you. Bye."
Yu Chen muttered a bye as Xia blew a kiss and then cut the call.
Yu Chen sighed as she wondered, "What have I gotten myself into?"
And it proved to be every bit difficult as she had imagined. Si Xia would call her sometime between 11:30 and 12 midnight to say goodnight, which was her cue to get into bed. But Yu Chen was not able to fall asleep for a long time and just when she thought she had gone to sleep, her phone was ringing again, wishing her a good morning. This was what her mind endured, and then it was her body.
She then went for a run to Si Xia's bunglow which was uptown and quite a distance from Hua's apartment.
And that was not all, after the run it was work-out with him, whatever Chen was able to do.
But the upside of all this was that she got to spend a lot of time with Si Xia everyday, as they had breakfast at his house which Chen cooked while he was showering and then dropped her off on his way to work.
Yu Chen was slowly adjusting to the schedule as when she woke up to Xia's call, she was not all that grumpy and picked it up before the call had finished ringing.
Si Xia said from the other side, "Oh? You picked up the first time. That's new."
Yu Chen chuckled, "I'm turning into an old person like you. Waking up at the crack of dawn."
Si Xia: "That was my intention. To make you into an old woman so that no one would leech after my woman."
Yu Chen let out a laugh upon hearing this.
