Chapter 195: Doing nothing much
Once they reached the apartment, Yu Chen brought out her laptop to the living room and opened it on her lap.
Xi Hua, not wanting to disturb Chen, did not switch on the TV.
But Xi Hua was so restless and bored that she could not figure out what to do.
After one hour.....
Xi Hua was lying upside down in the sofa, her feet up and hair dangling down almost touching the rug.
She said, "Chen.... I'm so booooorrrrrred."
Yu Chen: *not even looking up from the laptop* "What do you usually do on weekends?"
Xi Hua: "I go out."
Yu Chen: "You can go out right now."
Xi Hua: "Not without you, I can't."
Yu Chen rubbed her temples, "Hua, I really need to finish this before tomorrow. And I know I won't do it after dinner, and I know myself well enough to know I won't be able to get up early enough tomorrow to finish this."
Xi Hua sat properly, "Sorry."
Yu Chen smiled, "You don't need to be sorry. I know, how about you choose a dress for this evening."
Xi Hua rolled her eyes, "I already did."
Yu Chen scratched her head, "Then how about...you choose one for me?"
Xi Hua was so excited that she almost jumped up, "Really??"
Yu Chen: "Just make sure I don't look like a baboon."
Xi Hua pouted, "You mean to say I look like a baboon?"
Yu Chen suppressed a chuckle, "You did. Not me."
Xi Hua got up as she said, "Damn. I had forgotten how savage you are."
Yu Chen returned her attention to her laptop, "Here in person to remind you."
Yu Chen had peace for the next half and hour as she could faintly hear Xi Hua rummaging her cupboard and muttering to herself.
The rest of the afternoon and part of the evening was spent by Yu Chen focusing on her code, and by Xi Hua doing bits like curling her hair, painting her nails, because, 'she finally had the time'.
At about six o'clock, Xi Hua's phone dinged.
Huo Zenghai had messaged her telling that he and Si Xia had left the office and would be there to pick them up in about an hour.
Xi Hua, who was doing her make-up, panicked upon hearing this.
"They will be here in an hour? But I'm not ready yet!!"
Yu Chen closed her laptop and went to get a can of coke from the fridge, "Relax Hua. They will be here in about an hour."
Xi Hua said as she pushed Chen into her room, "Yes. They will be here in an hour. So go and get ready....No. No excuses. Go now." She added as Yu Chen opened her mouth to speak.
Yu Chen sighed as she shook her head.
She went in her room and noticed that Xi Hua had laid out an outfit for her on the bed.
It was a plain white blouse and a golden long a-line skirt. The skirt had embroidery in white and looked quite royal.
Yu Chen thought as she put them on, "This is why you should have friends who have a nice fashion sense. I would never have thought to match these two."
After she was done, Yu Chen turned around and the skirt twirled beautifully.
