Chapter 191: Family sized ice-cream sundae
Si Xia asked, surprised, "What?"
A look of realisation dawned on Chen's face as she turned to the waitress, "Excuse me, could you please get me another spoon? Thank you."
Si Xia stopped her, "No. Don't, I won't eat."
The waitress went away upon hearing Si Xia's statement.
Yu Chen looked at him and said, "So you're saying...that you ordered this complete family sized sundae for me? To eat by myself!?!?!"
Her face when she said this was so adorable that Si Xia immediately wanted to snag a pic. He said, with an innocent expression, "Yeah."
Yu Chen looked at the sundae, then at him, then back at the sundae. Si Xia picked up the spoon and handed it to her. "Here." He said, "Tell me how is it. It's chocolate flavoured."
Yu Chen said as she took the spoon, "Don't blame me for wasting money if I'm not able to finish it."
After saying this, she scooped up some ice-cream and put it in her mouth. Her face lighted up with that genuine smile which was rarely seen, mostly around her friends and Si Xia.
As Si Xia stared at her face, admiring her beauty, Yu Chen took another spoonful and moved it to Xia's mouth. She said, "Here. It's good."
Si Xia shook his head, "I'd rather not."
Yu Chen pouted as she looked at him, "It's melting. You're ruining perfectly good ice-cream. Come on." Seeing as he still did not yield, Yu Chen gave him the puppy eyes and said, "For me?"
This melted Si Xia's heart. He opened his mouth and ate it. Yu Chen ate another spoonful as she examined Si Xia's expression. She asked, "How is it?"
Seeing her behaving like a kid, Si Xia patted her head as he said, "Good."
Yu Chen smiled as the two finished the whole sundae, Yu Chen tricking Si Xia into eating half, even though he said he did not want to.
As the two stood up, Yu Chen called Xi Hua and asked her to pick her up.
Si Xia said, "Wait in my office. Hua will pick you up from there."
Yu Chen shook her head, "My make-up washed away. I can't go in there."
Si Xia looked at her and said, "Speaking of that. Why did you change your appearance before coming here. It couldn't have been only for the sake of pranking us."
Yu Chen looked at him, "How can you say that for sure?"
Si Xia: "Because I know you."
Yu Chen raised her eyebrows, "Do you now. Okay, if you can explain why you think so, I will tell you why I disguised myself."
By now the two were standing in a fairly secluded corner of the shop.
Si Xia crossed his arms as he said, "Though I know how much you love pulling pranks and would do anything for a bit of fun, but I also know how much you hate make-up and how it makes your skin itch. So, I can definitely say for sure if you put on make-up, it was something that was serious and necessary."
Yu Chen stared at Si Xia as he finished his analysis. She put up her hands in defeat, "Fine. It looks like you know me a bit too well."
