Chapter 175: Family. What to do?
Xi Hua: "Don't let Mr. Si hear you say that. No one knows what he might do."
Yu Chen: "Hey!!!"
Xi Hua: "Not my fault. You started it."
The two girls continued to laugh and chat. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Xi Hua made her way to the door and peeked out before opening the door.
Mrs. Xi came in, holding a big bag in her hand.
Xi Hua let her in and landed a hug on her, "Hey mom. How are you?"
Mrs. Xi pushed her daughter away and said, "Don't give me that. I was not expecting you to never come home when I agreed for you to move out."
Xi Hua: "Oh come on mom. Don't scold me. You're here now, right? Anyway, what did you bring?"
As Mrs. Xi came in scolding Xi Hua, her eyes fell on Yu Chen, who stood up and bowed to her, "Good morning, Mrs. Xi. How are you?"
Mrs. Xi was surprised and she rushed to Yu Chen, dumping all the bags in Hua's hands.
Mrs. Xi held Chen's hands and said, "Oh my, look how beautiful you have grown. You're just gotten too thin. Did the food in London not suit you? When did you come back? You should have come to visit."
Xi Hua said as she put all the stuff on the dining table, "Hey mom! That's how you're supposed to greet your daughter!"
Mrs. Xi: "Yu Chen is no less than my daughter. Actually, she might be a better one than you."
Xi Hua: "...Mom!"
Yu Chen laughed and said, "Come sit down, Mrs. Xi. I just came back last night. Sorry to intrude in Hua's home like that."
Mrs. Xi: "Nonsense. You were always welcome at our home and nothing has changed." She lowered her voice and said, "Now that you are here, just drag Hua home from time to time."
Yu Chen chuckled, "I definitely will."
Xi Hua came to sit with them with some fruits she had cut up. She said, "Hey, what's with all the whispering? Are you guys badmouthing me?"
Mrs. Xi said as she rubbed Hua's head, "Of course we were. You don't think I have anything better to do, right?"
Seeing the mother-daughter pair, Yu Chen suddenly missed her family. Her parents were back at the village, and she decided to visit them as soon as possible. As for Mian, Chen sighed, she would have to track down her own sister.
Mrs. Xi continued, "Anyways, just come to visit. Huh, Hua? And bring Chen with you."
Xi Hua gave a random excuse and Yu Chen nodded with a smile.
Mrs. Xi stayed for about half an hour before she left the apartment.
Yu Chen asked, "When was the last time you went home?"
Xi Hua mumbled something which Yu Chen did not catch.
Yu Chen: "Hua?"
Xi Hua: "Four months ago."
Yu Chen was dumbfounded, "You last went to your own home four months ago?!?!?!"
Xi Hua defended herself, "Like you're one to talk. You also did not go back when we were in school. It would be months before you visited your parents."
Yu Chen: "Yes I admit that. But we did not live in the same city."
Xi Hua lowered her head and did not say anything.
Yu Chen made a guess, "Is it because of the Han situation?"
