Chapter 160: He has to wake up. He'll wake up!!
Yu Chen gulped and said, "So, what's his condition?"
The doctor: "We managed to remove the broken bone, but it has done much damage to the brain. We will have to monitor his conditions for 48 hours, but....."
Si Xia prompted him, "But?"
The doctor came out with it, "It may be possible that he has sunk into a coma and we cannot say for sure when he'll wake up."
Hearing this, Si Xia gasped and Yu Chen put her hands to her mouth, tears streaming down from her eyes.
She said, "No. He has to wake up. He'll wake up."
The doctor stood up and said, "Let's hope so. We'll move him into the ICU. One person at a time can visit." After saying this, he left Chen and Xia sitting in the room.
Yu Chen sat there, with her face buried in her hands for a long time. Then, she suddenly looked up. Si Xia was getting worried about her as she was giving no reaction. But he was surprised to see that there was not a single drop of tear left on her face.
She looked at him and said, "Xia, I'm gonna go check up on Mrs. Mo. Could you find out in which room they're shifting Kio." Chen stood up as she said this. When at the door, Chen turned around and said, "Oh, and I might send Mr. Mo your way. See that he's fine."
She then left the room, leaving behind a very impressed and worried Si Xia.
Yu Chen hurried off to find Mrs. Mo. It was not much difficult as she had been carried to a nearby patient room. Yu Chen entered to see Mrs. Mo lying on the bed, and a very exhausted looking Mr. Mo sitting on her bedside, holding her hand, as a nurse put an IV on Mrs. Mo. Yu Chen waited at the door till the nurse finished and then asked her as she was going out, "How is she?"
The nurse eyes Chen with suspicion to which Chen responded, "I'm a friend."
The nurse shrugged and said, "It's nothing serious. She just fainted as her blood pressure suddenly sky rotted. We have already given the medicine. She should be fine when she wakes up."
Yu Chen nodded her head and bowed to thank the nurse as she headed out the room. After the nurse was gone, Yu Chen went upto Mr. Mo and put her hand on his shoulder. Mr. Mo looked up, his face deadly pale and looking like a man who was clearly going through a lot.
Chen said, "She's going to be just fine."
Mr. Mo turned back his head to look at his wife and nodded. Soon, his head bent and his body began to shake. Yu Chen could easily tell that he was crying, but did not want to expose a man who was trying so hard to keep his composure in such a rough time. During this time, Yu Chen messaged Xia and found out that Mo Kio was in the ICU 8 on the second floor. The floor they were on.
After Mr. Mo had calmed down a little, Yu Chen said in a soothing voice, "Mr. Mo? Why don't you go see Kio for a bit? I'll stay here with Mrs. Mo."
