Chapter 153: Thinking like an old lady
Mo Kio called a cab and waited with her. He only left after Yu Chen's cab drove off.
Yu Chen was very happy as she went to Miss Zhu's dumplings. She kept on fumbling with the bag pack in her hand.
Chen got off when the cab arrived at the shop and got out. She could see Si Xia waiting outside for her. Yu Chen's heart filled up with something warm when he saw the handsome boy, waiting for her.
As she approached closer, Chen noticed that a little snow had settled on Xia's shoulders. Seemed like he had been waiting there for some time. Yu Chen's heart ached for him as she ran upto him and said, "Why are you standing here? You could have waited inside the restaurant."
Si Xia looked at her and smiled. The smile seemed to light up Chen's whole world. She reached out and brushed off the snow from his shoulders. Xia's face turned slightly red. It was hard to tell whether it was because of the cold or the fact that Chen was caring for her.
Si Xia said, "You're looking beautiful today. As always."
Yu Chen blushed upon hearing this. She moved her eyes here and there, everywhere except meeting Xia's eyes.
Seeing her shy demeanor, Xia changed the topic. He said, "Have you had dinner yet?"
Yu Chen shook her head and Si Xia took her hand and went inside the shop.
At this point, Yu Chen was really satisfied with her life. She had great friends, loving family and was with the boy she had loved for so many days that she had lost count. She wanted nothing more from life than to chase her passion and spend her life with the people she cherished. Yu Chen shook her head and went in the shop. "Seems like Kio's words are really rubbing in on me. Why am I thinking like an old lady." She thought and chuckled to herself.
But little did Chen know that her perfect little world was going to tumble around her very soon, that the people she loved would never be the same, and that what she was leaving behind, was way better than what she would come home to find.
But right now, Yu Chen was only focused on eating her fill. The only thoughts in her mind were to enjoy time with Si Xia and return home to her apartment and have a nice sleep.
Inside the shop, Chen went upto Miss Zhu and greeted her.
Miss Zhu was pleasantly surprised to see Chen. She said, "You're finally here, huh? You have no idea how much I missed my best customer. Why don't you come here as frequently as you used to?"
Yu Chen: "Umm, actually Miss Zhu, I dropped out of school. So I don't come in this area usually."
Miss Zhu: "That's too bad. I really enjoyed your company. Anyway, who have you brought with you, isn't he a student of your school?"
Yu Chen nodded as she pulled Si Xia to introduce him, "He's Si Xia. A year senior than me."
