Chapter 149: Mo Anxia (1)
The story went like this....
Mo Anxia was born a year after Kio. She was a beautiful child and everyone in the family loved her. But soon, they realised something was wrong with her. She stumbled while walking and fell down when she was almost three years old. The family was even more worried when Anxia was unable to form proper words even after she was five.
So the family had her taken to be checked. It was discovered in the tests that Anxia was an autistic child. It was then Mr. Mo decided that if she was revealed to the world, Anxia would be targeted by everyone because of her family background and the disabilities.
But there was another side to Mo Anxia, one that Kio discovered by growing up with her. Mo Kio had always been a coding genius. He could write codes for small problems even at a very young age. But one day, Kio went into his room and saw Anxia typing away on his laptop. Mo Kio was surprised and about to drag her away when he noticed that she was effortlessly typing the code to solve a problem with which he had been struggling for a few days.
Soon, the family discovered that despite being autistic, Mo Anxia was a genius when put in front of the computer.
She and Kio used to spend their time together, playing, coding and having fun. Anxia was even better at computers than Kio and would often teach him anything he did not understand. She would almost become normal when talking about computers or coding. They were happy.
But soon, Mo Kio went to middle school and made friends there. He would go out with his friends instead of spending time at home. No one in the family had any objections with it, but no one noticed how lonely that had made Mo Anxia.
Mo Kio had found out early that Anxia was a person who loved to travel. She loved the outside world and would often sit on the benches in the garden or look out of her window. But she was never allowed to leave the house. Mo Kio had sneaked her out one or two times but he soon began spending more and more time with his friends.
Then came that day. That day, Mr. and Mrs. Mo had gone to some party. Mo Kio, as usual, was out with his friends and the servants had retired to their rooms after serving dinner to Mo Anxia. But when Kio came home and went to say hello to Anxia, he did not find her in his room. Mo Kio was worried and woke up all the servants and turned the house upside down to search for her.
But Anxia was nowhere to be found. Someone had called Mr. and Mrs. Mo, and they also arrived home, very worried and wondering where Anxia could be.
It was then that Mo Kio thought of something. He immediately got out his bike and rushed towards the cafe he had taken Anxia to one or two times. And sure enough, he found Anxia halfway there, trying to cross the road.
Mo Kio spotted Anxia just as she was about to put her foot on a very busy road. He shouted and she stopped.
