Chapter 142: Chen's afraid of speed
He parked the bike on the side of the road and wanted to turn around, but Chen held his jacket tightly and didn't seem to want to let go.
So Xia sat still for a while, letting Chen calm down. After Yu Chen seemed to have calmed down a little, Xia reached out his hand and gently stroked her head. Up until this point, Yu Chen had still not realised that the bike had stopped moving. She was surprised upon feeling a hand on her head and looked up.

He helped Chen climb down from the bike and said, "Sorry. I'm really sorry Chen. Don't cry now, please?"
Yu Chen had calmed a lot by now. She shook her head and said, while wiping her tears, "No. It's okay. Not your fault. How were you supposed to know about my fear?"
Xia opened his mouth to reply but at this moment his phone rang. He looked at the caller ID and picked up the phone and put it on speaker.
Mo Kio's voice came from the other end of the phone, "Hey slowpokes, where are you?"
Yu Chen was about to say something when Si Xia cut in. He said, "Actually Chen wanted some ice-cream. So we stopped at the little shop at Dongpo road."
Seemed like Kio had also put the phone on speaker, because Mian's voice could also be heard from the phone. She was saying, "Ice-cream!?!? I too want ice-cream."
Mo Kio: "What? Now we gotta go back?"
Yu Mian must have done something because his sigh came a moment later, followed by, "Fine. We're coming too. Stay there."
After he cut the call, Yu Chen looked dumbfounded at Si Xia.
But he had already taken off his helmet and started walking towards the ice-cream shop.
Chen also hurriedly removed her helmet and followed him.
After ice-cream, the boys dropped the girls home. Yu Mian instantly went into the kitchen, mumbling something about being hungry again. Chen opened up her phone and laptop and began to look over the algorithm and type on her laptop. Mian soon came out with a plate of freshly peeled Mandarins. She sat beside Chen and two sisters munched on them, while Chen typed the code, and to her surprise, Mian picked up a book and began to read.
After finishing up the code, Chen video called Kio. He picked up and smiled through the camera, "Hey Chen. How's it going?"
Kio seemed to have just taken a shower as his hair were still dripping and there was a towel on them.
Yu Chen: "How's the algorithm coming? I think this code might be right."
Mo Kio: "Which code?"
Yu Chen: "I wrote a code. And sent it's picks to you." She rolled her eyes and added, "Look over it. I'm gonna call Zenghai too."
Soon the three of them were on conference. Yu Chen was surprised to see that Huo Zenghai was not at the hospital. She asked, "You did not stay today?"
Huo Zenghai: "I wanted to. But my parents called me home for dinner. I've not been having dinner at home, so I guess they just miss me."
Yu Chen: "Okay. Are you free now?"
