Chapter 122: Girls talk
It had been some time since Hua's accident happened. It was already the 20th of November and Chen was leaving in a week.
The five had talked after Hua woke up and got her leg surgery. (Which was highly successful, by the way.)
She needed to stay at the hospital for two months and she could not walk around. The four went to the hospital every evening and stayed late into the night. Sometimes, Huo Zenghai even stayed.
So, the five had talked about what had happened. Chen had told that she believed that the real target was her and has proposed to stay, not go to London. The four had heavily opposed, this idea. So Chen was leaving in a week. The police had been able to find out the waiter who handed the note to Hua, but he was still missing.
Yu Chen was sitting beside Hua's bed and was peeling an apple. Xi Hua was still on a lot of pain-killers, so she slept a lot. Which was exactly what she was doing right now.
By the time Hua woke up, Yu Chen had peeled and cut two apples. She smiled at Xi Hua, who opened her eyes in confusion.
Xi Hua: "How long was I asleep? Is it already evening?"
Yu Chen chuckled and handed her a slice of apple, "No silly, it's not even 12 noon yet. And I don't know how long you slept, I got here only half an hour before."
Xi Hua: "Today's the 20th, right?"
Yu Chen: "Are the doctors sure you did not damage your head when you fell, what kind of question is that? Of course, it's the 20th."
Xi Hua: "And it's a Thursday?"
Yu Chen stood up, "I'm getting a doctor. You've gone out of your mind."
Xi Hua grabbed Chen's hand with her hand that was not plastered. She said, "Wait, wait. I'm perfectly fine. What I fail to understand, is why you are here, on a Thursday, at 12 noon. And not at school?"
Yu Chen sat back down. She began handing apple slices one by one to Hua so that she could eat them. Chen said, "I dropped out."
Xi Hua sat up, "YOU WHAT?!?!?....OWW."
She clutched her ribs and Yu Chen helped her lie back down. She scolded, "What the hell are you doing Hua. Lie back down. You have two broken ribs!!!!"
Xi Hua: "What do you mean, you dropped out of school?"
Yu Chen: "Well I saw no point. I'm leaving in a week anyway. And I'm going to visit my family tomorrow. And I need to do so much stuff. And, I wanted to spend some time with the biggest idiot in the world." Chen added as she looked at Hua.
Xi Hua: "Who's the idiot? You're the idiot."
Chen laughed. The two girls talked and enjoyed themselves that day. Although Xi Hua didn't say it as she did not want to cause trouble, Chen knew that Hua was really bored. She was a person who could never sit still. And at some level, Chen also blamed herself for what happened to Hua. If she had not come back, none of this would have happened and Xi Hua would not have had to go through this.
