Chapter 104: Loving parents
Kio had just fainted from shock and would be waking up any time soon.
Zenghai, on the other hand, had suffered from a severe shock and had to be given a sedative due to the scene he was causing at the hospital.
Then Chen and Xia went outside the operation theatre, where Hua was. They were not allowed to go in, but they stood there and peeked through the glass in the door.
After some time, Si Xia persuaded Chen to go back to the boys' room. As they went inside, they saw that Mo Kio had woken up. He was lying on the bed with an IV attached to his arm. He looked at them entering and tried to sit up. Chen hurriedly pushed him down and said, "Lie down."
Mo Kio: "How's Hua?"
Yu Chen: "We do not know."
Mo Kio raised himself on his free elbow and said, "What do you mean?"
Si Xia came and helped him lie down again. Then he dragged two chairs towards Mo Kio's bedside and sat down on one. He motioned Chen to sit down and said, "She is still in the operation theatre. The doctors outside refused to tell us anything until her family came."
Mo Kio looked at Huo Zenghai on the opposite bed, "And how's he?"
Yu Chen: "Zenghai's fine. It seems like he suffered from some serious shock. But the doctor said that he will wake up after two hours and be fine."
Mo Kio nodded his head and the three sink into silence. The same thoughts were going through their heads. "How did it turn out like this? Not even one hour ago, we were all having fun, dancing. Now three of us are in the hospital. One seriously injured, one unconscious, and one with an IV on his hand. When did it all happen?"
After a few minutes, Huo Zenghai's parents rushed in. They had already been briefed by the doctor about Zenghai's condition and were relieved that their son was in no danger.
They asked Kio about what happened, but Kio had reached late on the spot, and also fainted, so Si Xia told them everything.
After hearing it all, Mr. Huo said, "You kids definitely went through a traumatizing experience, you should all go home."
Mo Kio opened his mouth but Yu Chen cut in, "We're not leaving until Hua comes out of the theatre and Zenghai wakes up. At least, I'm not." She looked at the two boys who both nodded, "Us neither."
Mrs. Huo approached them and said, "Zenghai found some good friends. I'm glad you kids were with him."
After a few more minutes, Mr. and Mrs. Mo came in. Si Xia and Yu Chen stood up to offer their seats to them.
Mrs. Mo immediately went up to her son and hugged him, "Oh my son. How did this happen?"
Mo Kio wriggled and said, "Mom, let go. You're crushing me. I'm fine anyways."
Mr. Mo called Si Xia, who was standing beside Chen, outside. Xia said, "Chen, stay with Kio."
Then he went out.
After five minutes, they both came in. Mr. Mo went to check-up on his son, and Si Xia whispered in Chen's ear, who was standing by the door, "Come with me a minute."
