Chapter 101: Confession under the stars
Xi Hua immediately said, "Not at all."
She then hurriedly went away. Chen was looking in the direction she has gone, when Xia asked, "What's wrong?"
Yu Chen: "I don't know. Hua waa acting really wierd."
Si Xia: "Should we go and check up on her?"
Yu Chen: "Yeah, I will. So, what did you want to talk to me about?" she asked, turning to face him.
Si Xia: "Well, take a walk with me?"
Yu Chen stood up, "Sure."
They both left the hall and came out of the school building. It was a beautiful night, as Chen and Xia sat on a bench and looked at the stars.
Si Xia said, "Chen, you look beautiful tonight."
Yu Chen: "Thanks. You too."
Xia: "I don't think you understood me. What I meant to say was, you look absolutely perfect."
Yu Chen: "Why do you say so?" Then she suddenly remembered something and looked at the ground. She spoke, her voice trembling, "Why? It's because I look like your dream girlfriend. Manageable hair, dress that does not show too much skin, and light make-up?"
Si Xia was shocked upon hearing her words. He cupped Chen's face and turned it so that they were looking into each other's eyes, "What makes you say so? I never said anything like that?"
Yu Chen pulled her face away, "I know. I....just know."
Si Xia noticed that she was cold. So he took of his coat and placed it on Chen's shoulders.
Chen was definitely cold. It was a cold night and she was only wearing a dress. She suddenly felt warmth on her shoulders and saw Si Xia placing his coat on her. She looked up to see his face which had turned once again to the stars. He spoke, in a small voice, "The person you described, might once have been my ideal girlfriend, but it was just some descriptions without a soul. But now, that I have found such a great heart and soul..." He looked deep into Chen's green eyes, "I do not care about anything else."
Chen looked back into Xia's deep black eyes and felt herself getting lost in them. He put a finger under her chin and said, "You are perfect Chen. I don't need anything else. I love you."
But before Chen could say anything, they both heard footsteps coming towards them. Chen immediately moved her face away and Xia put down his hand. Soon, they saw Huo Zenghai running towards them. He stopped, panting and said, "Have.. eit-either of you....seen.....Hua?"
Then he straightened up and realised he had interrupted something very important, because Si Xia was looking at him as though he would murder him any second.
Chen's face went from confusion to worry. As she opened her mouth to answer, Zenghai cut her off, "Sorry. You guys continue."
He started to walk away but Chen immediately caught his collar. "What's wrong with Hua? Did something happen?" she asked with a worried face.
Zenghai: "Oh nothing really. I could not find her, so Kio suggested that I look outside while he searched inside the building."
By now the three of them had started walking towards the school.
Si Xia said, "She went to the washroom before we left."
Huo Zenghai: "What? How long ago?'
Yu Chen: "It had to be around twenty minutes before."
