Chen let out a laugh. Of course there was no harm in drinking too much here, as all the drinks were non-alchoholic. Worst case scenario, you would have to run to the washroom a little more.
As the first dance ended, Chen went to get a drink with Hua. Her face was flushed with dancing. Just then, a girl came up to her and asked, "Hey, you're Yu Chen right?"
Chen looked at her. She said, "Um, I wanted to say that you and Mo Kio make a really great couple. You both match so perfectly." Chen almost spat out the drink she had in her mouth. She rubbed her temples and said, "Why do people keep assuming me and Kio are a couple?" The girl looked shocked. "So you guys are not. So sorry, I just...." saying this she ran away. Hua amd Chen burst out in laughter. As they were laughing, Kio and Xia approached them. They both offered their hands to Hua and Chen respectively and asked for a dance. The second dance was one of the most beautiful moments of her life. She danced with Xia with so much synchronisation, it looked like they were basically a single person. The girl who thought that Chen matched Kio, her mouth fell open. She mumbled to herself, "I was wrong. This is what means for people to be a perfect couple." The irony was that Chen's dress perfectly matched both, Xia's and Kio's clothes.
During the third dance, Chen danced with Zenghai. Hua danced with Xia and Kio danced with one of her fans.
For the fourth dance, Chen took a gamble. She convinced Xia to dance with a girl. The girl was not very pretty but was nice enough and no one had asked her to dance the whole evening. Kio danced with the friend of the girl, a cute girl with freckles. Zenghai danced with Hua, again. And Chen was asked by a rather short boy wearing glasses. Chen recognised the boy, he was in Chen's computer class. The boy seemed to be an inch shorter than Chen, but nonetheless danced pretty good.
After four consecutive dances, Chen was dead tired. She was glad when the principal announced that dinner was about to be served. But the other students grumbled so much that the principal gave in and said they could dance for some time after dinner. After dinner, Chen and Hua both sat on a table, too tired to dance. At least Chen was, due to the heels she had wore. Hua did not seem much tired but her mind seemed to be elsewhere. She kept looking at her watch again and again. Chen asked, "Hey Hua, what's wrong."
Xi Hua turned around, surprised, "Wrong? What? Nothing's wrong?"
Chen: "Oh okay."
But Hua seemed to be in no mood to chat as she got up and said, "I'm going to the washroom for a minute."
Chen also got up, "I'll come with. Seems like I had a little too many drinks."
Hua immediately said, "Actually no. I would rather be alone."
Chen was worried, "Hua, what's wrong?"
But Xi Hua was spared from answering as Si Xia approached. He said, "Hua, do you mind if I have a private word with Chen?"
