Chapter 86: Xi Hua shops (Too much)
Xi Hua and Huo Zenghai spoke in unison, "It's nothing like that."
Yu Chen and Mo Kio laughed. Kio said, "I can go home to get a car."
Xi Hua: "That would probably be the best."
Yu Chen: "Hey guys, do you realise we have gotten really lazy since we started hanging out with Kio."
Huo Zenghai: "You know what, you do have a point."
Xi Hua: "Yeah, if it was before, we would have just walked to the mall."
Yu Chen: "So let's walk to the mall."
Mo Kio: "Hey, you guys are leaving me alone. That's not fair."
Yu Chen: "No you idiot. We're not leaving you alone. You're walking with us."
Huo Zenghai pulled at his hand, "Come on. Let's go."
So they all went to the mall and Hua and Chen shopped. Mo Kio enjoyed it more than he thought he would. Shopping with Chen was not really torture. She was not like other girls who would scream and run after every beautiful thing they saw. She only bought what she needed and looked like it was no less a torture for her than it was for Kio.
Xi Hua, on the other hand, was a typical shopaholic. She would run towards every shop and try every dress in a shop. Chen and Kio soon got tired and went to have some ice-cream, thinking that she would be done by the time they returned.
After two hours...
Yu Chen, Mo Kio and Huo Zenghai were sitting exhausted on a sofa in the waiting area of one of the shops. Che. had two bags with her which contained the five clothes she had bought. Kio had one bag which contained a very nice tie and a shawl, which he had bought for his parents. And Huo Zenghai sat with Six bags beside him, which contained all that Hua had bought. As they were contemplating running away, (because they were sure that Hua would not notice) she came out of the dressing room.
She had on a bottle green dress that ended just above her knees. Yu Chen had to admit Hua looked very pretty in it. But she knew better by now than to compliment her when she was shopping. She had done it before today, and Hua had purchased five same dresses in different colours.
After Hua had changed back into her own clothes, she paid for two dresses she had bought, and they came out of the shop. Yu Chen said, "I hope you are done now Hua. Zenghai cannot handle any more bags." She looked at Huo Zenghai who was struggling to hold seven bags.
Xi Hua: "Of course I'm down with clothes. Now, it's time to buy shoes."
Yu Chen was shocked, "Oh hell no!" she sat on the floor of the mall. "I'm not going into another shop. I'm not." Xi Hua tried to persuade Chen a lot, but she did not get up. Finally Hua sighed, "Fine. Let's go have some dinner."
After dinner, Xi Hua and Huo Zenghai went to their homes and Chen and Kio walked to Chen's apartment. Kio took his bike and said, "I'm really tired today. I don't think I was so tired after coding for 48 hours straight." Chen laughed and said goodbye to him.
