Chapter 82: Enjoying life
Mo Kio: "Hey, I'm not giving up my bad boy position so easily."
Xi Hua: "Please. We all know you're a sweetheart inside."
Mo Kio: "No, I'm not."
Xi Hua: "Yes, you are."
Huo Zenghai: "Yes, you are."
Yu Chen: "Yes, you are."
Si Xia: "Yes, you are."
Mo Kio: "...."
Si Xia: "Anyway, I'm heading out for some tours. Enjoy."
They all said in a chorus, "Bye." And Si Xia cut the call.
Yu Chen: "So, how about lunch at my apartment."
Huo Zenghai: "Yes. The dumplings from yesterday."
Mo Kio: "Will be there at 1:00."
Xi Hua: "And we can all go out after lunch. It's a great day today."
They all agreed to the plan and cut the call. Yu Chen stood up and went to the balcony. She stretched her hands and feet and thought, "Hua was right. It really is a beautiful day. I rarely ever skip school, and on holidays I'm really busy. So let's just enjoy today."
Yu Chen stood there for some time, looking at the scenery outside. Then she thought something and decided to skip breakfast and go out for a jog. She put on her yoga pants, a comfortable t-shirt and sport shoes.
Then she went out. Yu Chen jogged slowly and aimlessly. She kept looking around at the trees and the people going about their work. She finally reached a park that was too beautiful not to go in. Chen went in and sat down on the grass. She had always loved sitting on the grass, maybe because she was from the village or whatever. She sat there for some time. There were not many people around, as it was a week day and were not even early morning hours. As she sat there looking around, Chen was suddenly hit by the idea about how much she was going to miss everything. The trees, the people, her friends, everything. Feeling nostalgic, Yu Chen clicked a selfie, with trees and flowers behind her and the sun shining on her face. She looked at it and decided it was too pretty to not post. So she opened up Renren and posted the photo with the caption, "Appreciate the little things in life. Because these are the things that really make you feel alive."
Yu Chen scrolled through Renren for some time. She had really not logged onto Renren for a long time. Whenever she had time, she would open her laptop and start coding.
Just then, her phone buzzed. It was a Renren notification. Someone had commented on her photo. She opened it and saw a boy had commented, "Hey beautiful. You look like in the need of a company."
She decided to ignore it as she did not know who the boy was. But just then another comment popped up. This time it was Xi Hua. She had said, "But she definitely doesn't need a sleez-ball like you."
Huo Zenghai liked her comment and also commented, "Chen would probably dance on the road with a banana hat on her head, rather than hang out with you."
Yu Chen let out a laugh. She enjoyed for some time Hua and Zenghai completely bashing the boy. But the boy did not seem to want to back down.
He commented, "Hey pretty girl. Control your minions. You don't want something bad to happen to them, do you?"
