Chapter 77: Teasing Chen
Yu Chen said, "Why don't we go have Miss Zhu's dumplings?"
All three murmured in agreement. Miss Zhu was the woman who owned a dumpling shop behind their school. Yu Chen really loved her dumplings and usually had her breakfast there before school.
So Mo Kio went to the parking to get the car and the three waited for him at the entrance.
A voice called out from behind them, "Oi, do you guys need a lift?" They turned around to see Samuel walking towards them with his five teammates. He was wearing Chen's cap from whose underneath his wavy hair were sitting on his forehead.
Yu Chen smiled, "No we don't."
Sam: "Blowing me off. Huh. You really are heartless."
Chen: "It's not like that."
Kent: "We don't mind giving you guys a lift."
Andrew: "And we would also like a tour of the city by you pretty ladies."
Huo Zenghai: "Maybe some other time, we are running a little late today."
Andrew, who had been looking at Xi Hua, smiled awkwardly, "Of course. But sure you don't want a lift? It will be hard to get a cab here."
Yu Chen: "No actually, Kio drove us here and we're going back with him."
Sam: "Right, your boyfriend. Isn't he?"
Upon hearing this, Xi Hua's eyes almost popped out of her socket. Huo Zenghai had to put up his hands to his mouth to stop himself from laughing out loud, and Yu Chen almost coughed up blood. She said, "Cough.. he's cough....not my boyfriend."
Sam said, "Oh sorry, my fault."
By then a horn sounded behind them. Two Porches were parked behind them. Sam said, "That's our ride. Looking forward to London."
Yu Chen smiled and they said goodbye to the six foreigners.
After waiting for two more minutes, Mo Kio came, driving his Audi R8.
They all got in the car, Huo Zenghai beside Kio and Hua and Chen in the behind. Huo Zenghai said in an excited tone, "Kio, you won't believe what happened now." And he and Hua went on to tell Kio about how Sam thought that he was Chen's boyfriend. After they were finished, Mo Kio was also stunned. Then he started laughing, "Ohhh.....me..... Chen's...ohhhh.....Xia would kill me."
The already red Chen went more red. She looked like a cut little beetroot. Xi Hua looked at her and pulled her cheeks, "So cuuuttte."
Chen brushed her off and looked out of the window. She was actually relieved. She had never thought of Mo Kio in that way, and judging by his reaction, neither had he. Yu Chen was glad about that. She would never be able to accept him if anything like that happened, and she did not want to lose a really good friend. A friend like Mo Kio.
Talking and laughing among themselves, they reached Miss Zhu's shop. It was already more than 7:30, and the shop was mostly empty. It was a shop mostly visited by students of their school. So it was crowded during the after school and before school hours. Some students even snuck out of scho to come during lunch, but now there were only a few people.
"Welcome." Miss Zhu knew most of the students personally and was always happy to see them, especially Chen, who was a very regular customer.
