Chapter 63: Putting down names
Yu Chen looked at Mo Kio and then at Xi Hua. She said, "Put those down."
Xi Hua put down the bag of dumplings she had just picked up and backed away.
Yu Chen looked at Kio and then said, in a business-like manner, "What do you propose?"
Mo Kio sighed, picked up a packet of chips and said, "I'm willing to be the one write a code. But you will have to dictate it to me."
All the other three looked shocked. Yu Chen had just stooped down to pick up the pack of dumplings stopped, Xi Hua looked at him with a potato chip dangling from hee mouth, and Huo Zenghai had his mouth opened.
After a moment of silence, Huo Zenghai spoke, "Well it's the best idea."
Xi Hua also recovered from shock, "Yeah it's actually the fastest way to write a code."
Yu Chen: "But guys, isn't it against the rules?"
Mo Kio: "Well technically, there is no rule stating this."
Huo Zenghai: "And nobody told us that the person writing should be thinking the code."
Xi Hua: "And you two belong to the same team, so it shouldn't matter."
Yu Chen bit her lip. Huo Zenghai went upto her and took her hand, "Come on Chen. You want to win, don't you?"
Yu Chen sighed, "Okay. Now let's go and put our names down. Barely 15 minutes are left."
They all finished up whatever packet they had in their hands and went to the booth where teams were putting down names of their teammates. Just as they had put down their names and had begun to walk back towards their cubicle, they bumped into a team. It was the girl they had been looking at before Yuan Zuan came into the hall. She was leading five very geeky looking boys who had glasses dangling on their nose. She had silky brown hair which were left open with a hairband sitting in them. She flipped her hair and said, looking at Mo Kio, "Hey Kio, I saw you checking me out. Are you not satisfied with your current girlfriend? Though I cannot say that I am much impressed." she added looking at Chen, who had dressed up such that she almost looked like a boy.
Before Mo Kio could answer, Yu Chen spoke up, "And why are you so interested in your 'ex' boyfriend's love life? Maybe missing him? Not so satisfying fulfilling your needs by yourself, is it?"
The girl looked at Chen up and down and said, "For your kind information, it was me who dumped him."
Yu Chen: "Oh really?! Why? Was his knowledge too much for your pea-sized brain?"
The girl's face went red, "Shut up, ugly bi*ch."
Yu Chen: "Why do I have to keep telling everyone that 'I am not a mirror'."
Seeing that she could not win against Chen, the girl turned to Mo Kio, "So you have become a pussy now, huh. Letting your girl talk for you."
Mo Kio thought, "So it's my turn now."
He spoke, "You seem to be a lot interested in me today. I can safely assume that Xia has still not looked twice at you."
After some thought, he added, "Hell! He never even looked once at you."
