Chapter 60: Reactions
(So we will see what were the reactions of different persons after little Yu won in this chapter.)
As Lu Jim announced, "Little Yu."
Huo Zenghai....
Huo Zenghai was looking very hard at the stage. Just as he heard their name, he sprang up from his chair. Zenghai punched the air around him and shrieked, "YEAHHHHH...YESSS!!! WE WON WE WON WE WON!!" Then he hugged Mo Kio who was sitting beside him and started doing a victory dance. It was really funny and looked like a gorilla was jumping up and down. While he was celebrating, Xi Hua came towards him. She had tears in her eyes and was smiling and laughing. She came and hugged Zenghai and then kissed him on the cheek. At this, Zenghai stopped dancing. He stood there transfixed touching his cheek while Hua went away.
Xi Hua....
Xi Hua was sitting with her fingers in her ears when Lu Jim was speaking. As she heard nothing, she did not know what was the result. When she saw that Lu Jim had stopped talking, she looked around. That's when she saw Huo Zenghai dancing and shouting something. And she realised. They had won!!! She got up from her seat, tears flowing out of her eyes even though she could not stop laughing. She went towards Huo Zenghai, hugged him and kissed him, then started shaking Mo Kio who looked like he was in a trance, while laughing and planting a kiss on Yu Chen's cheek.
Mo Kio....
Mo Kio did not actually believe that they would win the first round. He had expected them to come second or third. But when they did not, he began, hoping against hope, to win. So when Lu Jim announced, he could not believe his ears. Kio sat in his seat, looking like an idiot, staring at the stage. Until Xi Hua shook him, that was when he looked at Chen and saw her smiling. He shouted in his mind, "WE WON!! YEAHHHHH!!!! Chen really is a goddess. WE WONNN!!"
Yu Chen....
Yu Chen sat in her seat, looking calmer than any of her teammates, but more nervous than all of them combined together. She just sat on her chair, sweating like she was working out in a desert, waiting for Lu Jim to announce. And he did. They had won. She had done it. Yu Chen's first emotion was releif, her coming back had not been wasted. It was when she was kissed on the cheek that she looked around to see Hua shaking Kio and he was looking around in a daze. She smiled at him, just as Huo Zenghai hurried up, "Let's go. They're calling us on stage."
So the four stood up from their table and walked towards the stage. As their table was at the very end of the room, they had to walk through the whole room before they reached the stage. As they walked, Chen could feel each and every eye on them. "Well, writing a code with no errors is a big deal I suppose. " Chen thought.
