Chapter 47: Final warning
As they were talking, Xi Hua's grumpy face popped out. "Get in. She's going to make the call." she said and went in. Mo Kio and Huo Zenghai followed her to see Yu Chen sitting inside with her phone, staring at it tensly. Si Xia put a hand on her shoulder and gave her an encouraging smile. Yu Chen called Yuan Zuan as they all sat down in a circle.
The call had barely rung for two times and it was picked.
Yuan Zuan: "Hii, who's this?"
Yu Chen: "It's Yu Chen."
Yuan Zuan: "Oh, come to stab me in the back again?"
Yu Chen: "No I'm calling to give you a final chance."
Yuan Zuan: "What chance?"
Yu Chen: "I know you have entered the competition under my team's name."
Yuan Zuan: "Huh, look at you spouting all nonsense. It's not my fault that you are an idiot."
Yu Chen: "I'm not the only idiot here. I am telling you to withdraw, if not....."
Yuan Zuan: "Oooo threats, seems like little Chen grew up."
Yu Chen: "Yeah. Yeah she did. So last chance, you are not withdrawing from the competition?"
Yuan Zuan: "Go to hell."
And she cut the call. Xi Hua, who had been holding her mouth burst out, "See, I told you Chen, she is a devil. And you were trying to be nice to her."
"Not really. This call was for my satisfaction. Now I won't feel bad destroying her tomorrow." Yu Chen had such a dark look in her green eyes that it made all of them scared for a moment.
Si Xia stood up to leave. "I really must be going now. I have to leave for my tour." he said, walking towards the door. Yu Chen followed him and said, "How's your ankle now?" Si Xia looked Yu Chen up and down. She had on a pair of jeans and a white oversized t-shirt over a black tightly fitting top. Si Xia's eyes glinted with mischief as he leaned closer to Yu Chen and whispered, "It will get better with a nice little kiss."
Yu Chen's face went a deep shade of red at his shamelessness. She pushed him away from herself and tried to close the door when Si Xia blurted out, "It's gonna be a week before we meet Chen. I'm gonna miss you." saying this he planted a kiss on Yu Chen's cheek and said, "It's for good luck. Make sure to win, hmm?" Si Xia looked at Yu Chen's face and went away laughing.
When Xi Hua came after five minutes to see what was taking Chen so long, she saw Yu Chen standing there holding the door and smiling like an idiot. Xi Hua peeped outside and saw no one there. She closed the door with a loud bang which seemed to bring Yu Chen back with them.
"Ye-yeah. "Wh-what?" Yu Chen still seemed to be in a daze. Xi Hua shook her and said, "Do you know who you are? Do you know your name?"
Yu Chen brushed away her hands and muttered, "Hua, don't joke." "Okay. So you have not become an idiot. Come inside." Xi Hua pulled Chen inside.
