Chapter 30: Mo mansion
So Mo Kio and Yu Chen went to the Mo mansion on Mo Kio's bike. On the way, Yu Chen was terrified. She felt like Mo Kio had a death wish and also wanted to take her down with him. He drived really fast and Yu Chen clung onto him for her life.
Just as she was thinking that it was the last day of her life and saying her final prayers, Mo Kio stopped. They had arrived at the mansion. Yu Chen looked at the mansion and forgot to breathe, it was not exactly a mansion but more of a castle. She got off the bike looking at the mansion with her mouth agape. She compared the only mansion she had been to, Yuan Zuan's house, to Mo Kio's house, and felt as though Zuan's house was a cottage.
By this time Mo Kio had come running back after parking his bike and started laughing. Yu Chen realised that her mouth was still open and quickly closed it. Mo Kio then grabbed her hand and started running, "Let's go, let's go, let's go."
"What's the rush?" Yu Chen asked as she was pulled along by him.
"If my father likes you enough, he may let us use the main computer room." Mo Kio answered without turning his head or slowing down his speed.
"What the hell is a main computer room? Looks like he is filthy rich." Yu Chen thought as she caught up with him, without being needed to be pulled along. She was all out of breath by the time she reached the inner entrance. Yu Chen looked back to see that they had run along the garden witch was the size of a football field. She stopped panting, to see that Mo Kio was not a bit tired and thought to herself, "I really need to start exercising more."
"Young master Mo, don't leave behind your so pretty guest." Yu Chen heard someone call out and she looked up to see someone whom she thought was definitely the butler. "Oh such a pretty little girl. And our young master seems to have tired her out." he said turning to Yu Chen. It was then Yu Chen noticed him properly, he was an old man with a kind face and white hair. He smiled at her as Mo Kio came running back, "Hey, uncle Leo, good to see you too. Have you seen my father?"
Uncle Leo smiled and said, "Yes. He is in his study. Young master could wait with her very pretty guest while I go and call him."
"Why don't you wait with her while I goo and call him." Mo Kio said running inside.
Uncle Leo smiled, shook his head and then led Yu Chen in. "He is a bit much to handle, but he is still a kid. I hope young master did not trouble you much, miss...?" he said as he led Chen into the living room.
"Yu Chen. And definitely not. He is really sweet." she smiled.
Then Uncle Leo asked Chen to take a seat and offered her tea. Then he went out saying that "Master and young master will be her soon." But Yu Chen could swear that she heard him add "I hope" silently. She stifled her laughter and waited, sipping her tea.
