Chapter 28: CHAPTER 28: MY PLACE

I intended to keep it a secret to where we were going and I know that she will always be curious about it. I keep on peeking her and find it amusing with the way she pouted her mouth.
She did not ask any more about where we were heading.
"May I?" she said pointing my sounds in the car. I let her be touched it but she suddenly turned to face me with eyes widen when she heard my playlists.
It was Taylor Swift songs as she turned on. I can see her face of disbelief about me listening to it. I know it is not me either but Taylor Swift song remind me of her. For the past years I was away from home and been missing her.
I have been playing Taylor's song that Shay sang in my car before and gave me to pursue my passion and dreams. Of course, I would not tell her that she is my inspiration.
It was not all Taylor Swift songs in my playlists but some of my favorite songs too. We just listened until we reached our destination and she got more inquisitive.
She got out of the car without waiting for me. "Is this your company?" she said as she turned to me.
"How did you guess this is my company?" I wondered.
She smiled. "Gosh, Finn, I can read what is written out the building on our way here."
I scratched the back of my head and grinned. "Oh, I thought you did not pay attention to it." I said expanding my hand to her. "Come, let's get inside."
She was happily accepted it. We lead to the metal door to unlock it then to the elevator and pressed top floor.
My building was just three-story but not so big just to occupied my staffs. The last floor was my place to live. Workers are not allowed to use it only me. They do not have access even my partners.
When the elevator stopped on the last floor, I grabbed her hand as we go out.
"I live here. This is where I sleep every day and work downstairs and at the back of this building was my equipment's place." I told her in details. She was amazed when the way I did my place.
"Wow, nice place, Finn and overlooking outside." I saw her eyes full of admirations too. She walked towards the balcony where I put some table and chairs and foldable chairs cushion recliner too.
Yes, the balcony was facing with some beautiful trees outside and lights of the buildings nearby. I only turned the light in the kitchen area. It still can see even without opening my lights on because of the outside lights.
I saw Shay sat down one of the foldable chair's recliner looking up in the sky. I picked up some wine bottle and two glasses and joined Shay.
I placed it on the table and opened it for her. I poured each one of the glasses then handed to her. "Here, has some baby."
"Thanks Finn, I did not expect that you got a nice location and place in here." She sipped the wine. "Hmmm, this tastes good."
"Do you like my place?" I saw her nodded. "It took me sometimes before I could feel that this is the right place for my business and it is good location very convenient too."
"Yeah, just some minutes away from my dorm actually." She noticed that. It really few minutes from her dorm that I can pick her up anytime I want to see her.
"True, I can easily see you anytime." I smirked. It's just few minutes from him by car. Everything gives me possibility to be with her.
I sat beside her in another folding chair recliner. We both laid down looking up in the beautiful sky. The night is still young and the air is cold. But I feel hot; my body is hot maybe because she is b
side me or the wine I was drinking with her.
"It was like we were in the mountain view back at home." She smiled. Part of this location I love is the view of the other side.
We were silence for quite a moment does not know what to open up some subject just to stare at the stars in the sky.
She broke the silence. "So, did you call Shane after I gave you, his number?" She asked turning her head to me.
I was staring at her and I did not notice at all. I did not know I was staring the whole time or not. But I see her face was blushing. I do not know if it's from the wine we drank.
"No, not yet I was busy for weeks and I do not even call you or text you remember." I explained still did not take away my eyes away from her. "Why don't you fill me in about Shane anyway?" I asked smiling.
She cleared my throat because the way I glanced. "Well, I have a niece actually." She started telling me about his brother Shane.
My forehead wrinkled, caught that word. "What niece? I do not get it. Please explain further." I said facing her body to me and she did the same. We were face to face with each other now but in some inches apart.
She smiled. "Shane fell in love when he was in college and got pregnant then got married. They were both taking up medicine at that time."
"Really, Shane fell in love and a married man now. I could not believe it." I shook his head smiling silently. "I don't know what to say but I am happy for him."
"Well, yeah, he is happy now with his daughter but he was almost about to give up life." She said sadly as my face changed.
"What!" he exclaimed.
"He lost his wife by giving birth to their daughter." She added thinking about the time he was struggle.
She nodded. "He is a widow now. And I guess he is not planning to find another wife after what happened. My parents were helping him to realize that there is still a reason for him to go on. He is okay now taking care of his daughter, my niece."
"I did not expect that he had this tragedy in his life. I wished I was there for him."
"I know Finn, I know and he was lucky that my parents were there to support him physically and mentally." She said touching my face.
I stared at her very deeply that I almost lost my thoughts. My face became closer to mine but never let go of that eye contact.
