Chapter 29: He won’t let you escape his clutches
"Ari and James are twins." She replied.
"W-what?"
Her jaw dropped, literally. Her mouth was wide open. She placed her palm over her mouth and she stared at Adriana waiting for her to re-confirm that for her. What shocked her the most is how Noah was stupid enough to not connect the dots.
"She looks so much like them, how did he not notice?"
"I made solid proof stating that Aria was adopted by me. Even if the thought crossed his mind the facts I presented to him would have been eliminated, even the smallest feeling of familiarity to Aria would not affect him." Adriana expressed confidently.
She knew Noah the most and he's a man who believes the facts and concrete evidence. She almost laughed ironically at that. 'Sure enough even if the facts are fake…' She thought about their past.
'This idiot.'
….
'How could you hide such a huge thing?' Kimberly questioned in her mind. As if she could read her mind Adriana smiled. "It's not like I have a choice."
"How do I explain this? A lot has happened Kim. A lot..."
Kimberly was dumbfounded. "Can I see a picture?" She asked and Adriana fetched her phone from her purse. She looked for a photo in her phone and she slid it over to Kimberly.
Kim took the phone and she looked at the pictures in amazement. She would scroll through the whole album of pictures. She found many pictures of each of the important moments in the life of the twins. She was emotional when she saw how much James resembled her brother.
She always wanted to have nephews and nieces from her brother and Adriana. She just never expected to recieve such great news like this.
Looking at her frown Adriana pursed her lips. "You might wonder why I only have James' 1,2, and third birthday pictures. Aria was not with us until 2 years ago. When I gave birth to them, they told me she had died. The truth is that someone paid the doctor to kill my children but the doctor only sent her to an orphanage. I looked for so long but I finally found her…" Her voice became quieter at the end and her eyes went to Aria.
Aria felt her gaze on her and she smiled cheerily. She waved her hand and touched her dimples cutely. Adriana grinned and waved back.
She turned back to Kimberly and she pursed her lips. Kimberly was covering her face with her palms trying to absorb the new information. "Why didn't you tell him? He could have done something." Her hands were shaking.
"Why would I Kim? If me and him weren't together this wouldn't have happened in the first place. I was afraid that if I approached him I would also lose the last part of me...my son." Her words were cold and determined. She would never regret the decision.
"Do you know who?" Kim asked.
"Heh."
"Kimberly. Didn't I tell you before? Our meeting wasn't set to happen yet for a reason. 2 weeks from now I would tell you the whole truth and make you turn against the person responsible for this. You were supposed to become a pawn of mine but in the end my emotions keep getting ahead of me." Adriana confessed, waiting to see Kimberly's displeasure but she recieved the opposite.
"So, instead of using you I will tell you the truth and you can decide what to do with it." She continued and wrapped her arms around the cup in her hand and then took another sip to quench her thirst but it didn't work.
She wasn't thirsty for water, she was thirsty for the witch's neck tightly and elegantly wrapped around her hands so that she could squeeze the life out of her.
She closed her eyes for a moment to calm down.
"You have changed…" Kimberly told her.
"Change was inedible." Adriana answered.
"This change is good. I don't want you forgiving the person who did such a cruel and evil thing. I would want to kill her if I were you." Kimberly's eyes turned dark and she clenched her fists angrily.
"Now tell me. What do I have to do and what do you have in mind?" She asked desperately, she would definetly let Adriana use her as a pawn.
How dare they scheme agaisnt her brother and sister-in-law?! Her insisdes were shaking with anger.
"For starters you can't tell your brother anything. Not about James and not about Aria. You can't say a single word." Adriana warned her.
"But he can help us…"
"I thought so too, but I was naive back then. Kim, I will obviously not hide Aria and James from him forever. It would be too cruel on my part. My children need their father too. That still doesn't mean I will do it now. It's not the right time. Until I can confidently say they will be safe, I will announce their identities." Adriana explained.
Kimberly took a deep breath and she clasped their hands together. "Got it. Whatever we discuss here stays here." She answered determinedly. Adriana smiled.
"Hmmm, I will tell you things properly in a better place. For now let's enjoy our meal." Adriana smiled.
"And after?" Kimberly's question startled her.
"After?" Adriana furrowed her eyebrows. "After brother finds out about the existence of his children. What will happen after? Will you both start anew?" Kimberly further explained her question.
"Have you ever thought about Chriss, Angel, Mom, dad and even grandma. They would surely want the twins to be with both their mother and father." She continued.
Adriana smiled bitterly.
"Of course. He will have the right to visit his children just like any other divorced partner does. We will both share custudy."
Kimberly frowned. "But you and brother lo-"
"Kim. Let's not talk about this. I'm afraid things will never go back to what they use to."
"I know. But that doesn't mean-" Kimberly pursed her lips. "You are right. Let's not talk about this right now. "
"I'm sure you won't escape brother's clutches anyway..." Kim, lowered her voice.
"What?" Adrian asked in confusion, since the last sentance was not audiable.
"Nothing." Kimberly smiled, confident in her last sentence. She suddendly started feeling emotional again.
Kimberly stood up and she hugged her tightly. "You are strong. I know I have always been the parent figure before and the one who guides but...I don't think I would be able to live peacefully if i were you. Gosh, it hurts so bad. I always wondered why you had to die on me…"
Adriana smiled and she looked up at the camera. She stared straight at it and then closed her eyes hugging her with sincere emotions.

"Ah." The security guard flinched when he saw the woman stare at the camera. He felt like she knew they were watching her.
He cleared his throat and looked up at the person behind him. "Mr.Preston, the camera is too far and we can't hear a single thing they discussed. I also tried zooming in on the phone but….nothing." He explained
Noah narrowed his eyes. With his hands in his pockets he exited the room and made a call. "How is grandma doing?" He asked.
"Good, but she still wants to see you know who. She is also asking for Kim." Angel responded.
"We will be there soon. Tell her I'll bring both of them to meet her." He said an hung up.
He closed his eyes remembering the look she gave the camera and he furrowed his eyebrows.
'Just what are you up to, love?'
