Chapter 4: A System of my Own?
I woke up in my bed so at some point Makino must have come in and found me passed out on the floor. Thinking I must have tuckered myself out due to my age, she put me to bed.
It is dark out. I am unable to tell if it is late at night or very early in the morning. I am not able to use the position of the stars or the moon to tell. After all I never studied astrology.
Fumbling my way through the near pitch black dark, using what little moon and starlight I can. I find the Shinra Chest near the closet with the cell laying closed on top.
"Here we are."
Flipping open the phone the screen lights up and shows me a number of options you would expect from one of those system novels and fanfiction. The options are as followed...

Storage.]
"Do I have a system like those lucky MCs from novels and fanfics?"
I glance at the 3 databases at the bottom of the menu.
"I can understand the Shinra Inc. Database, but what about the Umbrella Corp. Database? That had nothing to do with the Final Fantasy series."
I click on the UC Database in curiosity but a mechanical voice denies me access.
[No data available in the database. Please purchase data from the shop.]
"What kind of data would I need to actually spend money on? A viral infection that turns people into mindless flesh eating zombies and wildlife into mutated abominations?"
I chuckle.
"Then again Umbrella's technology was not just biological apocalyptic weapons. They had some good tech and their normal pharmaceutics were revolutionary, they just had their priorities wrong."
I clicked on the Status option and a series of information about my condition appears. There is no exp or levels you would expect from a role playing game, like you would see in a normal system novel. It merely shows my level in comparison to the powerhouses in this world.

These stats are simple and basic so it is very easy to understand.
According to what I have read of these stat's descriptions. Physique represents a person's physical characteristics such as strength, resilience, stamina, and mobility. The more you train your body, the higher your ranking. As an inexperienced child it is naturally at it's lowest
Magic represents the potency and capacity of my magical abilities when I have magic materia equipped. I can cast more spells and deal more devastating damage with magic.
Experience isn't a numerical value that raises everytime you slay hostile elements and level up. It is your capabilities to skillfully put your abilities to perfect use in combat. In a battle between 2 similar level opponents, the one with more experience has the advantage.
Thanks to Soldier 1st Class Sephiroth's personal experiences and memories when it involves combat, magic, and personal training regime as well as enhanced physique due to the J-Cells and mako injections. My growth will be faster than when he originally trained
I have access to everything he had minus the resources provided by the company. But I gave a feeling the shop may have that available for me.

I click on the Skills section next and there are very few options available to me.

"Hm... Just Sephiroth's main martial arts is available."
TSKSR is one of the oldest forms of martial arts and consists of single handed swords, dual swords, short swords, long staffs, quick drawing techniques, glaives, spears, and throwing weapons.
More advanced techniques also involve grappling and knife fighting, intelligence gathering and analysis, strategy and tactics, astronomy; geomantic divination, and philosophy and mysticism (It's real, look it up.).
"I will just simplify the name as Swordsmanship."
I have come to learn that more skills can be learned from mastering a materia or personally training and learning something personally.
That means I will need to actually try and master something manually. Unfortunately for me, something not personally learned or experienced by my predecessor will take longer than what he had learned in his life.
That is fine with me.
I will learn and master Haki on my own. There was enough information on training Observation and Armament Haki in the series for me to experiment with.
Looking at the materia and database options I am certain I do not have anything available for them for them at the moment so I click on the Shop options.
"Well, this is interesting."
