Chapter 33: Aren’t… you suppose to be with Morgana?

"Yes Miss Gwen" Anberine nodded slowly before she was released, watching the curtains move to one side she spotted the shy prince staring at them before grabbing Anberine's bag.

"I'll take you to your room since you're starting classes tomorrow" the prince said surprising Anberine deeply.

"Aren't... you suppose to be with Morgana?" Anberine asked gingerly before looking at the physician who blinked in confusion, staring at Anberine oddly Skye took the girl's hand and led her out the room.

"No, why would I be with her?" the prince said as he helped her to her room while making sure that she didn't stumble or hurt herself, seeing how steep the staircase was Skye moved slowly leaving Anberine a bit uncomfortable.

"Because..." Anberine paused from speaking before shaking her head, she'll ask Morgana later. "Never mind, I'm just tired and my mind is still a bit hazy" Anberine commented as she placed a hand on her right cheek to emphasize she was still tired. Sadness filled Skye as he stared at her.

"Let's go out tomorrow after class since we only have one lesson tomorrow" Skye blurted out before he could take back his words, startled and curious Anberine stared at him but was unable to speak thanks to the fact he pulled her by her hand. Leading her towards her room so she could sleep.

"But I-"

"Let me make it up to you" Prince Skye said as he smiled at her briefly "you never sleep much anyways and I'm sure you haven't been resting lately either"

"But where would we go?" Anberine asked as she tilted her head, partly trying to amuse him so she could go inside. "Last time I checked we're not allowed to go outside the school grounds without a note" hearing this he smiled.

"I'm the prince, if I say we're going out who will stop me?" Skye challenged with a wide grin as he stared at her frowning face.

"Your father" Anberine replied bluntly before he waved it off.

"But how will he know?" Skye asked slyly as he trapped her against a wall near her door, looking down her smirked at her startled expression.

"I'm not even going to say anything, if anything he'll think that I'll be studying in the library so why bother to keep tabs on me there?" he asked while his mouth was hovering beside her ear, her skin prickled from his warm breath that sent shivers everywhere.

For sure she was scared to assume he could hear her racing heart that continued to beat so quickly to the point her ears were going red.

"Ah-! My room sire, please give me my bag" Anberine almost berated herself for stuttering and cracking under pressure, seeing her response caused his smirk to almost grow but kept it hidden as to not aggravate her anymore.

She had been through enough and the last thing she needed was to be teased badly.

"I'll put it on your table, don't stay up all night studying" Skye said with a knowing smile after dropping her bag down on her mahogany table, he soon turned to see her sitting on her bed and proceeding to take her shoes off before going onto her bed.

Not saying a word Skye approached Anberine and moved her bed covers so they were now resting onto her chin startling her enough to make her eyes go wide.

She blinked tightly as she felt his lips touch her forehead for a few seconds before moving backwards.

"Sleep well Anberine, I'll see you in the morning" Skye murmured softly and left the room, once he was gone did Anberine sit up sharply and gripped her bed sheets tightly.

"This- something isn't right, how did the spell not work? Didn't Morgana give him the apple?" Anberine pondered quietly while cupping a chin with her right hand, her brows creasing from how deep her thoughts were becoming before looking up at the door.

Swallowing she dared hope that the prince was not outside still and slowly placed her legs over the edge of the bed, she paused.

"I'll see her tomorrow" Anberine muttered now frowning over the fact she was taking the prince's advice to sleep. Looking up at the ceiling after laying back down her mind became riddled with questions until her body relaxed and went into a deep sleep.

To say that she was annoyed by his persistence in being everywhere was an understatement, not only had he been there once she left her room to go to class.

He was also holding her bag after taking it from her baffled hands that soon gripped empty air before her mind quickly caught up with what transpired.

During class he had chosen to sit next to her instead of being with his 'friends' which as a result left everyone confused until the teacher's presence demanded their attention.

The Dark Dwellers and Marcus eyed Skye from the corner of their eyes with a few questions forming in their minds.

Why hadn't the potion worked when Morgana gave him the apple?

Why was he choosing to sit next to Anberine? And why was he being so protective of her now?

Marcus who remained furious over the attack kept on guard just in case one of the noble girls tried their luck once more, this was not going to happen again and he would make sure that it didn't.

Merlia who was taking down notes eyed the prince, at times taking notes of his behaviour while focusing on class she soon noticed he was acting... normal?

Minus the fact he was infatuated with Anberine, what made the potion fail? Was it because the first one was in effect?

If so wouldn't that mean they would need to cure him before placing another spell on him? Merlia as she looked at her notes could only assume his focus would most likely be on Anberine.

Which Merlia assumed would enhance the spell Anberine had made and as a result caused Morgana's fail to some extent since they were not close enough to invoke any feelings especially towards her.

Once class had ended Skye quickly grabbed Anberine's packed up bag and took the startled girl by the hand.

"Time to go" Skye smiled as he led her out, seeing this the Dark Dwellers and Marcus watched with baffled eyes.

"Where are they going?" Gawain asked bluntly as he placed his bag strap over his shoulder.

"I don't know, but I hope he's not going to hurt her" Perceval said causing them to stare at him blankly "what? Don't tell me none of you are wondering that either" and with that the group remained silent.
