Will wouldn't let anything happen to Hazel on his watch. There wasn't anything he could do while she was on campus and he was at school but once classes were done for the day he would be right here and could be there in less than ten minutes if she needed him.

That was why he was dealing with the inconvenience of living in San Francisco when he went to school in Berkeley and worked in Oakland. And he didn't regret it in the slightest since it meant seeing her more.

He had already dealt with a lifetime of inconveniences for her sake. What was one more?

Things that would have bothered him with anyone else didn't bother him when she was involved because she was special. She not only saved his life but gave him something to live for rather than simply surviving.
