Chapter 18: Questions(1)
Sono and the men made it to the village square where the huge pile they had brought back was. The citizens were more than smart not to go anywhere by the things. If they took anything they would probably be horribly and brutally tortured before death. Even more serious, the protection they're granted for monsters could be taken away.
The village elder was walking toward Sono in the quickest speed she could for her age. "General we have washed the girl and given as much medical aid as we could." Which for them was probably ointment and bandages. Definitely wasn't as helpful as the materials he carried and was ready to use, but he understood they wanted to be helpful to their saviors.
"Thank you elder can you take me to her."
"Of course but I don't think she is mentally stable. She woke up and she's been trying to break free of those chains. She keeps talking about a body or something." At this time Sono had already made sure to wrap the body in a thick and concealing gauze.
"That's fine just take me to her. Also mage pick the body up and bring it with us. Do not take it out the gauze yet." They got closer and closer to the room where she was held.
"LET ME GO! GIVE HER BACK, I'LL DO ANYTHING PLEASE!!! She screamed over and over at the top of her lungs.
Sono kept trying to get a word in but as he knew what he needed to do because he had done it so many times, he had taken several steps to her and slapped her across the face. This lead her cheek red and her face more calm and rational. Now that he looked at her even though she was malnourished she was quite the site behold. After all the dirt, blood, and gods only know what else was on her was washed off she looked quite presentable. Especially with her violet hair which wasn't all that weird in this world where many different hair colors were common. Her face was remarkably pretty with her beautiful gray eyes. "Listen I just want to ask a few questions before I let you go. I even have you mother's body." She shook her head in acknowledgment with piercing eyes as if she was trying to read his mind. "First what is your name?"
"My name is lily of the Calla family." She said this with almost a deep hatred in her voice.
"How did you get so strong lily?"
"I was trained by my father since I was 6, I've been training since. I was also given a petice stone."
The mage behind Sono eyes widen as far as it could. "Sir does she mean a stone that can amplify your training speed by 50%. They're one of the rarest stones you can find. Countries fight over one or two of them and they just gave it to their daughter!"
"Quiet soldier it's nothing we can do about that. Is there any more of these stones Lily?
"I don't believe so...."
"Well give her the body and untie her. Do you have any living relatives?"
"No my father died 4 years ago. My mother was going to take us to the Marona kingdom so we were safe from the akiri tribes. Then..... then...then....." Her tears rode down her face while she was sniffling and squeezing her eyes close so they couldn't see her cry."
Sono felt pity for the girl even thinking how he could help. He would tell her she could live here but he doubted the poor village had someone who didn't have evil intentions take her in. She been through a lot especially at a young age. "How old are you?"
".....13....." she said still crying."
"My wife is gonna hate me for this" he mumbled to himself. "Listen, would you like to stay with me and my family. It'll come with rules sadly." He said smiling. "I am pretty well off so you won't have to worry for food or clothing but you will have to go to school."
She looked at him with eyes that said this is definitely a lie. "Like the academy of Marona."
"Well I was thinking of maybe regular schooling but if you wish to get stronger that might work. Although you don't need to with your strength even now you could get a spot as an adventurer or a soldier."
"No I want to learn more."
"Ok if that is what you want, mage we'll be moving out tomorrow both of you get some rest we'll be meeting with the Queen."

Tophson walked down the narrow hall and came upon the royal hospital which took up a wing of the castle. As he opened up the door he saw a bright light in part of the room.
"So your back."
"How is she Apollo?"
"I'm sorry to say but I'm managing to do is keep her in a serene state. The disease she has is definitely still in her but as long as I keep working it won't grow but it's not looking good for her."
"You want me to put her out of her misery don't you!"
"Stop yelling. She is in pain even though she looks calm she is definitely not. Would it be so bad to put her out of her misery?
"Is their still a chance she can overpower it?"
"Yes but..."
"Then that's all I need to know keep working....please I have no one left."
Usually Apollo was pretty much an asshole but he couldn't say anything smart or hurtful to a man who just wanted to save his daughter. "Ok." Is all he could reply with before getting back to work.
