My Parents Are The Best(Mini Chapter)
My mom Sarah King, and my dad Kevin King are two of the most understanding and loving people in the whole world. My mom is a paralegal at Lyle and Kyle Law Firm and my dad is the chairman of Marriott, a real estate company. They both started out at middle level positions in the companies they work at 3 years ago, but with a push from me and a desire to make me happy when I returned from my training, they exceeded what I imagined to be possible and reached a very high peak that I had believed to be unattainable. This makes me very proud of them and humble because it made me realize just how much they care about me. My mom loves to cook as a hobby and my dad is an avid fisher. Their shared hobby would have to be watching the nightly news together while eating out of a gigantic popcorn, and cuddling like a couple of teenagers in love. Whenever I see them like this, I sneak off so as not to interrupt their lovey dovey time. I have to find some way to make their lives easier since they put in so much effort for me to be happy, shouldn't I reciprocate?
Therefore I dedicated today to cleaning up the house when they left for work. I invited Mei over to hang out with me while I cleaned up. Even though there wasn't really anything to clean since mom is an excellent housekeeping genius. Dad might not help around the house, but it is because mom doesn't leave anything to do and takes charge. I guess at home dad looks like a beta, but he isn't their relationship is one of equals. Their undying love for each other sometimes makes me blush as an onlooker, and depressed about my future because I am sexually attracted to women but my parents want grandkids. What do I do? Oh well, there is plenty of time to figure this out in the future, for now I will enjoy my harmless flirting with the ever clueless though shouldn't be clueless Mei. The thing about Mei is that she is a very diligent girl. In fact sometimes I would say too diligent. For instance, when she arrived at the house today and noticed me cleaning, she immediately tried to join in. I of course tried to shoo her off, but she was adamant in helping so I caved in in the end. I guess that makes me a slight pushover doesn't it?
Mei comes from a family of immigrants. Her dad is a shoe maker, and her mom runs a nail salon. Mei works as a barista in order to help support her family's financial status. However, Mei grew up in the US and though English is her second language, she is just as fluent in it as she is in Mandarin. She graduated from high school this year and is planning on going to a local college. Saint Pious Community College. Yes, it is one of those religious schools. She isn't religious, but her parents are. Therefore in order to keep her parents happy, she has decided to attend the college that they picked out for her. They originally wanted her to go to university, but she refused because she wanted to stay close to the family in order to be able to be there for them if they are ever in need of her help. To put it simply, just like me Mei loves her family dearly and would do anything for them.
Family is important and you must treasure it above all else. There are days that go by when I wish that I had siblings, but at the same time I also find myself grateful to be an only child. I wish I had siblings so that I didn't grow up alone and it maybe wouldn't have made me turn into the mess that I was before my transformation.
