Chapter 55: Genetic Modifications
"Many things are changed and modified especially animals. Breakers mix different animals and there genes so they have the best traits. Such as your new pet Maze, she is a mix between the two species. She has the balance and will be as stealthy as both predictors and will blend in with things but she also had night vision. The mix the best traits from the two animals and creating a new breed or s pieces all together. It makes them more ideal for battles or to be used in wars. You can normally only find them on the black market because they are modified and Maze might have more than just the two genetics in her those are just the ones who features show themselves, there could be others that make her different as well that you can't physically see. There are fighting rings and that's normally what they are created for, animals fight and people bet on who will win it's how they entertain themselves. There are rings all around the world. We are not aloud to create them in our country but we can purchase them. The government is what creates the ones that are normally purchased with our country, they were originally created for wars as they are strong and faster and are more loyal then a normal dog plus you can have any traits you want them to have so they are prefect for being weapons. They normally have enhanced hearing and smell and vision so they can find threats far before soldiers run into them. Now you have one babe. I can't believe you hadn't ever seen one before, I mean they are expensive so it makes sense I guess that you never saw one in the low-tier community and not very many mid-tiers probably own one either but you have been at an elite school now for what 4 almost 5 years and still have never run into anything about them. It's kind of funny, I used to have one that was mixed with an alligator so it still had fur but underneath the had plays so it was harder for it to get hurt and it had more teeth." Hunter explained.
"I never knew that people did that stuff and could genetically modify them." I said.
"Well I mean that's kind of makes sense I guess." He said.
"Babe do you think the drugs my mom took are similar to the stuff used to create them. I mean after all I'm so much like them, I was made up of different DNA and it combined the best qualities of my parents."
"I mean in a way yeah, but I've never meant anyone like you Megs. You are one of a kind and I'm not sure if it's the same kind of thing that used to fuse amazes DNA but it's possible. Wait.. babe you said you can't control fire right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Ok just hear me out what if you aren't an elemental it's just appears like you are because of how the DNA bonded. It gave you abilities so what if when it connected all four of there DNA strands it gave you 3 abilities instead of one since all of your fathers had abilities in there blood except it all was amplified by John who is an Elite." Hunter said.
"Yeah I mean that's a good guess... but I know I can control fire... I did it when I was little as I have gotten older because I suppressed my abilities for so long they are more unreliable and uncontrollable. That's why I haven't been able to use fire again. When I train more I think I will be able to gain control of it again though."
"Ok, I have faith you will become stronger and we are on an island right now so we can practice here just away from the buildings, the island is pretty big so it shouldn't be an issue. Also I think you should start training Maze." Hunter said, he handed me a collar a made out of silver he had bought for her and a leash.
"I'll get right on that, because I can't have her making mess in someone else's home." I said.
"There's also the cadge our back and a new bed in it so she can sleep out there. The weather is nice and she'll be fine, but we shouldn't bring an untrained creature into Logan's Uncles house." He said "Also I think it's time we start to see if we can figure out why his mom wanted us to come here instead of returning back."
I nodded my head in agreement, I still had Maze in my arms. I didn't keep her in the cadge on the flight here instead I had taken her out of it and held her, letting her fall asleep on my lap. I had been carrying her around as we walked around the island. There was a dock, with a big catamaran boat along with a small speed boat, and a big sailboat. There was also a big garden on the island, it had orange, lemon, peach, cherry, and apply trees. Along with straw berry, raspberry, blueberries, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis, watermelon, peppers, and grapes along with some herbs in it. It was all fenced off though. There was also two wooden beehives so bunny could be collected from them. Along with a duck coop, it was a mixture of ducks and a few chickens. We also found a barn where there was a few horses and some dairy cows and some deer, and goats along with a few pigs. Next to the barn was a big open fenced in field, all of the back of the stables were open so the animals could go out whenever they wanted. In a part of the field there was corn and green beans growing and they had both spread to outside of the fenced in area so it was now growing outside as well.
"Why does your uncle basically have a farm on his island?" Sydney asked.
"Well to be completely honest he said this place was his get away, because there is nothing but ocean for miles so if anything bad ever happened he could come here and live because there is plenty of water and he has foods and can fish and stuff. It's always been really nice to come out here but we don't very often. It has some coco and coconuts growing on the island I think there is some sugar cain and grapefruit as well by the pond on the island. The pond is fresh water as well so any time it rains it will collect water there. My uncle has it all planned out if something was going to go bad he has a place to come to get away from it." Logan continued "also I know he has a bunch of guns and amo in the the shed by the house and he also has air defenses technology on the island so he could shut it into lockdown mode and put up a force field to help prevent from attacks and stop people from coming. My uncle works for the technology department in the defense company. He help create everything and knows how all of it works he also left manuals in the back so if something would ever happen to him his family could be here safely in times of crisis and wars."
"Wow your uncle has it all planned out." Miya said.
"I mean it makes sense though I'm sure he was alive when the uprising happened and he saw many people get killed for trying to start a civil war and then right after that we went to war with another country. I mean he might not of been alive for all of it because we were at war for 25 years but I mean that all happened 50 years ago now. It's one of the subjects that is avoided though, because of fear that it'll give someone the idea to do it again. Last time the civil war only lasted for 3 years because they weren't strong enough and there are still rumors that not everyone who was a part of that died and some escaped and went into hiding." Sydney said.
"Yeah, that's true and if they really did get away now they know they need more support and they could be waiting for the chance to strike again." Tony said.
"Don't be stupid, our government is to strong and they would crush the uprising very quickly if anyone even tried to start one to begin with. Also Megan's never heard this so stop filling her head with old stories that our parents told us." Hunter said.
"Hunter right, no one is dumb enough to go against the system or try and start a civil war again. It wouldn't even be a war it'd just be a blood bath for the other side like it was last time." Logan said.
I smile and nodded. I couldn't tell them what I knew, but I knew that the rumors were true. We had people hiding in the low-tier area from that war and who were spreading word of doing it again. They also claimed this time they had support from another country call the Netherlands, last time we went to war with our neighboring country North Supublic and they failed they were allying with them as well to have an inner attack and outer attack. Our country is Central Supublic, north Supublic is smaller than us but they still have strong forces as Cuba is right behind them and that's there biggest Allie they seem to be sister countries who always have each other's back. Although they are smaller countries they still lasted over 20 years in war and neither party won, both sides had declared a treaty for the war to end as both side had lost countless people. I had information that others didn't because I am from the low-tier factor, but people had been talking about this back when I was in middle school before I got sent to the elite school. It's still all rumors at this point and nothing is proven they had always said they may have allies but they were going to wait for the right time to strike. They offered a better life for the low-tiers so almost all followed it and were will to join at least when I left they also had mid-tiers who were part of it and some elites from our country who had fallen in love with someone or had family who was a lower tier so they watched them struggle and were unable to help them. I truly hope that isn't what's going on back home right now though and I doubt it is as our government is stronger right now then it's been in years because of the increase in elite tiers, the elite can afford kids and most elite families have 3-4 kids although they mig be at the highest numbers again in cemeteries, the low tier still outnumber them 10-1. The elite don't even make up 20% of our countries population.
