Chapter 17: Platform Z
I moved finally excepting it was time to get up as we were almost at our our stop. Hunter had woken up by this point as well. "Hunter, please remember to not us your abilities. I figured I'd remind you since we are almost here and are going to be seeing my mother soon."
"I know, no abilities and avoid talking about tiers and scores since your mom doesn't like it."
"Thanks you." I said with a smile on my face. I can't wait for him to meet my mom and my family. This is the first guy I have ever brought home and honestly one of the very few friends I have ever brought back. Normally I didn't really hangout with anyone outside of school since I was stronger and the kids at school had always assumed I was closer to my fathers and uncles tier than my moms. Which I mean is true not that I know my score, so I don't know exactly what tier I fall into. Although I know I'm would fall into elite since my abilities can be used to control things and they have nothing to do with fight close range. I've always wonder if that part of why my mom wants me to hide my abilities or if it's how she doesn't have any that she learned to dislike there use. She never told me, but I have always done as I was told.
"Hunter, I'm also not sure that we should tell my mom we are anything more than friends."
"Okay, I guess we can hide it from her if you really want."
"Thank you for understanding. I've just never had a boyfriend before, let alone ever brought a boy home. I just don't know how she will react so I don't think we should tell her for now."
"I understand, but can we go back a second to the part where you haven't ever had a boyfriend before."
"Ummm well I haven't."
"How haven't you ever been in a relationship before Megan!"
"Well when I was here I was faster and stronger than everyone at my school so people were intimidated by me, I guess I was basically at the top and would of been a royal if we had that. It made it so not maybe people talked to me and none of them were real friends but I never got picked on and nobody ever questioned me. Then I got chosen to move to an elite school and all of a sudden I was at the bottom. Nobody wanted anything to do with me and I rarely talked to anyone. I stayed out of the way and took back ways through middle school to avoid people and getting bullied. The others with me were as lucky and got bullied and beat up all the time, so they grew to resent me since I rarely got bullied or beat up. Part of that was because I was in with royals. I did all there work and whatever they needed me to do including informing them of rumors since I was a nobody, everyone talked and said whatever they wanted not worrying about if I heard them, in return the royals showed me the back ways around the school and how to avoid people and they helped keep me safe. Even being at the bottom I was still higher the other low-tiers and I have the strongest elites favor, while they didn't. They didn't like me because of it so they wouldn't lay a hand on me out of fear but none of them were ever my friends or ever really talked to me, my roommate even avoided me most the time. Therefore no relationships, and no friendships."
"Wait, you mean you knew royals. Actually that's makes sense on why you weren't scared of me and telling me your opinion. That also means you probably know our spade, Logan."
"Yeah, Logan was our king and he's actually the reason I got in with the royals and a few of the elite in my middle school, and how I stayed so safe. He would always step in when I was being bullied and about to get beat up, to remind others I clearly knew my place since I wouldn't fight back and that they were wasting there time on someone like me. The other royals and the few elite he was close with also did the same when they saw it, since they need me to be able to do there work and be there spy."
"Huh, Logan mentioned that he used to have a low-tier that he trusted and that could get us information about those who disrespect us, and who would also help us pass all of our classes. He wouldn't ever give us a name, so I had no clue it was you. He always said you were very resourceful and someone who was beneficial to his court and helped keep his rule when he was king in middle school."
"I did what I felt needed to be done to keep myself safe. I also was trained so I can normally go unnoticed and can disappear pretty quickly since I don't really stand out to much."
"Well, you stand out to me." I smiled as I heard his words.
"Megan, so then who was your first kiss then. You have had to of had one at least in middle school before you started working with royals or maybe after to try and get on your good side to earn there favor as well."
"Umm, well no I didn't. I guess that why I pulled away." We both went silent for a few minutes I could see hunter trying to read my face to see if I was lying.
"Damn, so I am really your first for everything so far." I nodded my head, I mean what would I say. I already seem lame now because I haven't ever done any before and I just had my first kiss the other night. I am 17 and just had my first kiss, I mean I guess I am a year younger than everyone else in my grade since I tested out of pre-grade and went to kindergarten instead. Thankfully I heard "Now stoping at Station Z, prepare to exit if this is your stop." I smiled and looked over at Hunter.
"Station Z is our stop, it's closer to my house, we could go to Station X though if you really wanted, that'll take us to closer to the center of the city."
"We should probably get off and go to your house so we aren't walking around with our stuff right, plus isn't your mom expecting us."
"Yeah that's true, she's probably worry if we were out to long. Plus walking around with this stuff just puts a bigger target on our back anyways."
"Wait what do you mean by that."
"We gotta get off the train, either my mom or I will explain it later."
